New mechanics to make cards have multiple stages within a single game can be interesting
A mechanic that makes cards stronger in your collection is the absolute worst for a card game
If 2 players start a game with the same deck, but one’s cards are literaly stronger than the other player there’s no fairness in the accessibility of the game because one player can just win by brute force regardless of choices.
That’s a trend that plagues mobile games or even just multiplayer games that I think is one of the worst designs possible for a strategy game.
