Hi guys, hope you are doing well with all this COVID madness. Thanks for staying with us!
Since the patch went live, duplicate protection is not working for rares for me.
I’m still missing several rares (that I didn’t de’d earlier, just never owned).
And when I’m opening packs (from different sets btw), I still receive duplicates for already owned rares.
I can send you screenshots (but it writes I can’t include them in my post here).
This time it particulary happened with Breath of the Infinite. I already have two golden copies, and just opened from the pack a regular one.
I just made screenshots for this time, but that already happened to me more (maybe 5-7 times), and also on different devices as well. I mainly noticed it with cards that I have 2 golden copies, or 1 golden and 1 regular - the pack gives me just regular (like not counting that golden+regular = already 2).
Guys, that’s not funny anymore. Second time in a row per day I’m opening the same duplicate Gryphon from the pack. You can check time in top right corner.
EU server.
Thanks for posting the screenshots of the triplicate rare cards you received.
Could you please add another screenshot, showing the rare Descent of Dragons cards you are still missing, and hence should have received instead?
(Go to the collection manager, set the expansion filter to Descent of Dragons, then in the search bar type “missing rarity:rare”)
Thank you for your reply!
Unfortunately, I can’t show you missing cards. Not anymore.
But on those time I was missing these two: https://photos.app.goo.gl/omME5BYbWauae6aD8
And Ritual Chopper as well.
Just got them from Arena reward… And I believe I also received several more from recent arena runs.
As you can see (I hope you can see somehow my acc in game), I’m playing since beta and have pretty decent collection, plenty of dust and gold. And I’m not quarreling or asking to compensate me smth. I just will be happy to be sure to open my 90 Outland packs with duplicate protection working as intended.
I can also suggest you an experiment: since I miss some rares from Rise of Shadows, or Saviors of Uldum - I will make all screenshots and will buy right now several packs, just for testing.
Conjured Mirage and Into the Fray are cards from Saviors of Uldum. The duplicates you showed in your screenshots are all from Descent of Dragons packs. You can’t get Uldum cards from Dragons packs.
You reported Ritual Chopper as a triplicate in one of the screenshots you posted. Not as a missing card.
No, I can’t. I’m a player, just like you. Blizzard staff post in blue text.
And even Blizzard staff who post here (which rarely happens, most of they time they read but don’t respond) have no access to your account data.
Only customer support have access to account data. If you want to get them involved, open a ticket. But so far, I’m not yet convinced whether you met an actual bug, or were confused about what cards you do and do not possess.
Whether or not you want to spend gold or money on packs right now is entirely up to you.
But if you do go ahead with the experiment, then please report back the results, regardless of whether they confirm or deny that something is wrong.
I submitted a ticket on Saturday because of an issue with the rarity protection. I opened a GT pack and got 2 copies of Living Roots (it was bugged out as an epic), but I already had 2 copies of Living Roots and I’m missing multiple copies of epics and commons from the GT. Game Master Mhaedarnoe responded to my ticket and said there are no known issues with the rarity system and basically said tough luck.
This is clearly still an issue and not just with Arena. Just bought a Dragon’s pack with 100 gold on EU server. Already had two copies of Blazing battlemage and even got two of them in one pack! I still get duplicates, Blizzard please fix this.
Please don’t spread incorrect information.
Shikkusu is right. The new triplicate protection for common, rare, and epic cards has gone into effect a few days ago. (And duplicate protection for legendaries has been in effect for a long time already).
I am also receiving many triplicates from at least 6 or so packs of cards recently (cards that I already have two of). It is slightly annoying if it is not affecting everyone, because then it is not a level playing field. Hoping this can be fixed soon, as I love Hearthstone!
Are you missing cards from that set (i.e. descend of dragons, uldum) AND the same rarity (common; rare; epic; legendary) as the triplettes? If you do, please provide screenshots, because it is a bug. If you are not missing cards, of the same set and the same rarity, it is not a bug.
I’m having this too. I opened a Classic pack, and I obviously don’t have any Demon Hunter cards or the new Priest cards yet, but I didn’t get any of them in my pack.
I’m not entirely sure how this anti duplicate system should work. Should it work like this? got 3x, 4x, 6x, 9x+(?!?!) https://prnt.sc/ruwkne
And this is mage ones. Crazy too. https://prnt.sc/ruwmme
There are no Demon Hunter cards in the Classic expansion, so no way you could get those from a Classic pack.
Priest cards would be possible, but not guaranteed. The new priest cards are all Rare or higher rarity, so a pack with 4 commons should either include a (new) Priest card, or another rare (or better) card that you don’t own yet.
Did you take a screenshot of the cards opened? Can you post it, along with screenshots of your collection with the expansion filter on Classic and the text “Missing” in the search bar?
As explained in the news post when Blizzard announced this, rarity distribution is not affected. So you will still get at least 1 rare or better in each pack, on average 1 epic per 5 packs, and on average 1 legendary every 20 packs.
Or, in other words, you still get 3 or 4 commons in almost every pack.
You also obviously only get cards from the expansion that the set belongs to.
The Ashes of Outland expansion has 52 common cards. So once you have found 104 common cards (which should be after opening approximately 30 packs), you’ll have 2 of each. After that, every new common card in an Outland pack will, of course, be a common you already have two of.
Similarly, the Ashes of Outland expansion has 35 rares, so after 70 - 75 packs on average, you’ll have 2 of each. Every next rare will from then on of course also be a triplicate.
Your screenshots shows common and rare cards that you now have more than 3 copies of. That would only be a bug if you ALSO can find any common or rare card of the same expansion that you only have 1 or none of (and that you have not disenchanted!)
Go to your collection manager, then click the Crafting button. Set the expansion selector to Outland. In the search bar, type “missing rarity:common”. You will now see all Common Outland cards you have one or none of. Do the same for epic.
My prediction is that you’ll get no results both times.
I had 72 packs of the Ashes of Outland to open ready for today. I’ve made it through about 15 and I have 4 Netherwind Portals. 3 commons 1 golden common.
This seems to be evidence of the duplicate protection not working? I want to hold off opening anymore, until I’m sure!
