Libram Paladin has 70% WR in hsreplay.
You going to do something about it?

Shhhhh…let them count their $$$ and then the nerfs will come, this cycle is as common as the fanboys who defend it.
you forgot an important piece of information: which rank are you looking at?
A very specific Libram Paladin deck with a small number of recorded games has a 70% winrate. The archetype as a whole doesn’t. Libram Paladin as a whole is currently at 56% winrate according to HSReplay (Diamond through Legend).
so if i play a really obscure deck and manage to win like 4/5 games and upload my stats to hsreplay, does that mean its a tier 0 deck with 80% winrate?
HSReplay only lists decks with a minimum number of games recorded by multiple players, so no. If I remember correctly, it’s 200 games and 10 different players.
Here is the fanboy defending his paladin deck lol. Because 56% is so balanced, right?
In other Blizzard games, game designers on tweak balance on specific match ups. Why should this be any different?
The only Paladin deck I’ve played this expansion is a janky Duel one. I’m missing way too many epics/legendaries to play Libram paladin.
It’s a lot better than 70%. There’s also the fact that Libram Paladin has clear counters which will can easily bring down its winrate once people start actively trying to counter it. It’s not unbeatable, and I haven’t seen any indication that any one card is so powerful that it has to be nerfed.
For one, because this is the only Blizzard CCG, so a design approach used for an MMO or an RTS might not work as well here.
Others are right when they say this is standard OP for Blizzard.
Print something busted, sell as many packs as they can before the community screams loud enough to force nerfs. Then instead of balancing anything, they generally kill the cards so they are useless.
Considering 56% WR is still lower than what others have been at the start of most metas, it’s really not going terribly. A nerf to a class at 60-70% (Gala shaman was 65%, DH was 60-65%, Hunter was around 60%+ as well) is no big deal, but nerfing a class slightly OP will most likely put them in to a position that most wont bother playing after that.
Nerfing an OP deck usually destroys the class. The last time Paladin was in this situation, they got a nerf (odd pala) and it toasted Paladin for the rest of the expansions and this is, literally, the first time since then that Paladin has had a strong deck. If Paladin gets nerfed, it could be over for Paladin indefinitely.
WR % is flawed way balance decks for years and a lot people know that
so if it broken it broken and people wast time use WR % to defensed broken cards
im pretty sure this is a lie
people lie all the time about deck win rates at the beginning of an expansion
when shuderwock was released someone claimed the deck had 90% win rate
I just re-installed the game after probably not playing it for several years. Played one game, casual, basic deck. Against what I think you are describing here. Lady Liadrin and her first card was to make all librams cost less. a few turns in, some card that made it so she got a libram. I lost in about 6 turns and didnt even do one damage to her hero. It wasn’t…even…close. Even with my inexperience, that seemed really really unfair. Just came on the forums to see the state of the game, people can’t be happy with that. Sure enough…found this thread.
Uninstalled the game again. Probably won’t be back ever this time.
I sometimes quit for almost a year at a time and then check back in to see if the overpowered nonsense is still going on.
Oh good so im not the only one who realizes how currupt blizzard is. Im just glad I’m FTP. They did the same thing with DH on release made it OP so everyone spends then nerfs the hell out of it.
Imagine crying over a class that actually plays with solid minions and powerful buffs (which Paladins should have been since ages ago) while there are other classes that generate 5 cards out of 1 card, played 30 mana worth of cards by Turn 5, permanently freezing your board, etc. etc.
The new Paladin deck only costs 2800 dust for the new cards. You don’t need to spend a bunch of $$$ to craft those unless you’re dirt poor on Dusts. Heck, I came back last month from a 1.5 year hiatus. I didn’t buy anything yet still can craft Pure Paladin and Guardian Druid without spending a dime.
This ain’t Yugioh where you need 3 copies of a $300 card in your deck or else say goodbye to your hopes of winning against anything decent.
Why are you addressing me with your post?
All I’ve said was to agree with another.
Blizzard is well known for printing busted cards initially
and then, when they have gotten players to invest as much as they are able, nerfing the cards after the fact, generally to the point of unplayability. I said nothing about crafting costs or spending money or anything else.
thats the concept of every card game. people wont keep playing if the new stuff is meh, they want something that feels new and powerful. the challenge is to keep the “powercreep balance”, most card games are gone in 2 years because they fail just that
A great many players take offense when they craft said powerful deck only to have it rendered unplayable a few weeks later.
