Demon Hunters, yes - another thread

I could jump on the hate train and say DHs are overly op in every imaginable way - like having insane AoE while healing themselves, dealing insane amounts of damage and unlimited draw while playing 4 1-drops in the first two turns. I am not doing that though.

I want to talk about its class design and how it feels to play against them.

Playing against a DH is never ever fun. It always feels like an uphill battle.

In the majority of these games while facing a DH you’ll be on the passive side and all you are doing is reacting to the DHs plays.
Being constantly on the passive side is not fun - especially while playing a supposed to be tempo deck yourself.

The fact alone, that DHs have a 1-mana hero-power is utterly stupid. There is no other class that always has a guaranteed turn 1 and is always able to utilize all of its mana in the most efficiant way just through their hero power alone. Imo this is a critical design flaw and needs to be fixed.

Even winning against a DH never feels rewarding somehow. Mostly you win because you found an answer to all their plays and they do run out of stuff eventually. You don’t win because of superior plays or good strategy - mostly you win because they concede - so u win without being on the active side of the battle once - it is just not fun. The whole class design is a failure, especially when blizzard is slow to fix its current state. Since DHs have been in the game, expansion launches have been worse with unnumbered DHs torturing the ladder and souring the usual fun a new expansion brings…

It is simple a new class was introduced which changes the dynamics of the game entirely and unfortunatly the impact this class has brought has been, a faster pace of in general of hearthstone and the logical conclusion is since hearthstone made this class it is the direction they want the game to go i could be wrong but its just how i feel.

You are thinking of aggro DH. Soul DH does very little at the start of the match, other than try to get some shards in their deck

Soul DH is kind of the opposite of what you said, you are not reacting to them, they are reacting to you. You know the blade dance is coming, so you have to figure out which three midrange minions you can afford to just throw away (spoiler alert, you can’t). Or else you can try to go really wide with a bunch of smaller minions so blade dance isn’t as effective, but then of course they’ll just shardshatter mystic aoe your board away

Blizzard’s little pet class has answers for everything and like you said, does everything well

I love the DH class design tbqh. I think they just should push other classes at the same power level as they do, just to make it even.

The DH is a clusterF*** of a class, i wish they’d let us blacklist a class when we start up HS, let the Idi*** play against other DH’s
right now sitting in my 5th straight fight against Demon hunters… game has sadly become somewhat dumb.
At lest i can switch to my priest lol… but thn the little kids just leave or start roping
