The suggest a card button suggests different cards from the deck builder…If you add in cards that are counter productive to the deck archetype that the deck builder tries to create - it doesn’t care. Priest will always get cards that are for the resurrection deck. Warlock, always gets zoo. Every hero just has one archetype that the deck builder tries to make regardless of what you try to go for.
Yeah I agree, I was testing it for a bit, throwing in a bit of a custom shell for my decks and seeing if it could figure out a decent solution to it. The result? It tried to make holy wrath paladin with only half the combo pieces. Literally no-win condition garbage deck. It’s awful beyond belief. I have a fully constructed Odd and Even paladin deck but it didn’t pick EITHER of the two, instead, it tried to force my deck into being something it obviously couldn’t be.
I am having a terrible time with the Hearthstone deck builder. I’m sort of old school and I like to make my own decks (learn from my mistakes etc.). I have no problem with the concept of the deck builder, or even having it available if I want to use it, but it is frankly hugely annoying. My problem is that it randomly decides to make recommendations to my decks, which means it grays out certain cards that it thinks I should swap out. The real problem comes when I cannot play because grayed out cards register the deck as “incomplete.” I then have to manually go into each one of my decks and pull the card, then replace the same card. This process is time consuming, annoying, and it really stops my game play. I would appreciate a way to either turn off the deck builder, or some simple way to indicate that I don’t want to make any of the changes, or simply don’t make deck builder suggestions register a deck as incomplete. It would be great if I could use my decks as they are and not have to waste 5 minutes every time I log in clearing out all of the “helpful” deck builder suggestions. Furthermore, the more I can play, grow, and learn as a player without using the deck builder the more I am online honing my skills against other player which adds value to the game. I’m sure Blizzard has realized this and weighed it against the value of helping beginners get the statistically stronger cards into their decks and giving them a good overall experience, but I just need a way to avoid stopping my game because the deck builder thinks I should play with certain cards.
Thank you.
I use the deck builder when I am stuck with a class quest that I don’t have all the best cards for. Their vanilla decks are easily built and usually the quest doesn’t require winning so its easier than trying to build a deck with a class who’s cards I haven’t collected.
There’s a current set of bugs where decks keep being incomplete, every time you log in, after you already built the deck - this is usually for cards you own golden copies of, but I am hearing cases of other cards missing. All you should need to do is to open the deck up in collection once or twice and it’ll refresh itself, but who knows what Blizzard’s doing.
Thanks Jonius,
I am noticing that it happens almost exclusively with my golden cards, yes.
I think my point is still valid though, you shouldn’t have to answer to the deck builder whenever it wants to make suggestions and invalidate a deck because it thinks you might want to switch something. Why would they make it so you can’t play until you either accept or reject a suggestion (even if it only happens once)? It’s a forced interaction with the deck builder. I find that sort of rude and certainly annoying.
