Self-explanatory. Not sure if other people feel this way but the last 6 games I’ve had doing this brawl have all been death knights (of the 7 games I’ve played) and it basically boils down to forcing you to play past 50 board clears while they use basically zero cards from the new set.
Got my free one, spent 4 tickets on my third run, complete waste of time tbh. Honestly one of the worst balanced brawls I’ve seen in a while.
I mean do what you have to (lack of cards to play in the brawl sucks) but from the perspective of someone who is trying to play with new cards, it’s a train wreck. Death knight is overwhelmingly oppressive from what I’ve seen in 3 runs of this brawl and def feels like I should have just saved the tickets for something that didn’t feel really dumb to play.
I’m sure if you take DK into the brawl you’ll have a great time though.
If you have the cards Vicious Syndicate has two good DK lists, I pulled(only 6 packs) a ceaseless expanse and the new common drenai to discover a spell at start of turn instead of breaches and ran their breach list went 5-3
It’s kinda vindictive that they force 3 expansions to be deleted from the decks. It’s as if the developers hate older developers who made the other 3 expansions.
Just let people play the Standard cards next time.
I have the cards to make pretty much any list for the tavern brawl (aside from some of the new legendaries) but the point isn’t just winning, the point is to actually get a chance to playtest some of the new cards and yet the decks that are being ran spit in the spirit of players doing that.
Death Knight from what I’m seeing is really overtuned compared to almost everything else right now in the brawl.
Disagree, It is harder to make the newer cards feel more relevant when they know cards like Reno or the Titans(Yogg being a Tech card for starships) have a higher power level then what they are printing. Cherry picking sets to make the new set look good so more people purchase it is was probably on the check list
their words
-This Tavern Brawl will be a place for you to open your pre-purchase packs, try out cards from the new expansion
so its not about playing standard, its about trying to make a smaller pool of cards so new cards get played
For you it isn’t for some it is
I was talking to skizzy who expressed interest in playing DK, I understand the frustration of trying to do something(even if its what the Devs say the event is for) and have “try hards” playing what they think is the best deck and ruining your fun but for them that is how they enjoy this Tavern Brawl so you kinda need to build decks with that in mind
People are just playing the best decks in the brawl for the rewards (valid). It’s just dumb (also valid). And when I say that the point isn’t just winning, you do realize the language there suggests there are multiple reasons to play the brawl, right? It’s not an exclusive statement
You realize they did this so people didn’t just copypasta the entire standard meta into the brawl? For example, Handbuff Paladin is useless in the brawl because the core of the deck isn’t playable.
I don’t have any new cards to test.
Yep, I’m going to get through it and move on, but I want to win while I’m there.
Tbh, i get where you’re coming from. Triple blood reminds me of control priest when i started in the year of the dragon, and I hated facing that deck. But i have the cards for it, the deck makes sense to me, and it isn’t incredibly popular. Also it’s technically “rainbow” triple blood cause of buttons and razzle dazzler, and I get to use my fancy porcelain scarlet drinking tea portrait
Except … people are wining without new cards and they gave everyone a free entry… so you’re just bitter about something that doesn’t exist becuase nothing about this brawl is P2W.
But letting paying customers play with new toys first is good business.
I hope it’s a smashing success and the whales have a ball and buy extra stuff… so we can all keep enjoying the game.
Nice moving the goalposts, and ad honimem. You claimed there’s no way to P2W; now you suddenly try to misdirect us to another topic; we’re not children.
And that’s a fact. When you can win the mode without paying, then it’s not pay to win. Pay to win means if you don’t pay, you don’t win. They gave us free entry, full rewards, and you can use your existing collection.
Played one match, lost, laughed and said “Nah, don’t care that much for this BS” and went back to playing a better game. Here’s hoping this “promotion” costs more than it took to make. BTW, MicroActiBlizzard, fire your tavern brawl designers and hire a better team.
