Current state of the game

Still having ptsd. That was my second hiatus from the game. First one was witchwood with the bullcrap baku and shudderwock. Mistakes happen. But this time game is in the same spot for 2 years now. I cant wait for the rotation because they wont bother with fixes since the world championship is on the way.

There is no chance mobile gamers put any money let alone more. No way that happens. Cant get more casual than being a mobile player. Just like diablo immortal. Havent met a person playing the game more than a week who wasnt playing it on pc. Still have friends that keep the game alive even after IV. Not a single one among them on mobile still playing today. Companies get greedy and try to attract more people but all the hardcore players who keep them alive are on pc. Mobile is not the way to expand. The only people who actually play hearthstone on their phone are regulars on vacation

The death of the PC is being proclaimed since the early 2000s. The PC will never die, because it’s simply the most efficient way to have a modular computer.

This includes the small kids of today. They WILL have PCs as college students and as adults (if not in this x86 fashion: in any other big form modular fashion).

“PC will die” and “PC games are influenced by mobile markets” are totally different statements. I disregard the validity of saying something will “never” happen but it’s hard to argue that mobile gaming is influencing PC gaming. Runestones did not appear in HS out of nowhere, it was mobile gaming industry that proved this scummy marketing tactic can make you lots of moolah.

Rumble was just released for the PC btw. That’s great news.

It’s just logically impossible after a point because you will ALWAYS require a way to make efficiently a computer in a modular way; making things tiny is always an extra engineering weight by definition; you have various issues that you add by making things tiny such as off the top of my head only: a) the cooling is harder hence the speed lowers b) things just break more easily because of their structural integrity being worse c) it’s just more inconvenient to even build with low skill labor etc.

And you know what: I see signs in the newest generations that they will never stop using them either. Kids these days want a PC for playing video games because they already figured the most powerful graphics are on them (their parents not allowing them is irrelevant (they will become adults)).

Welcome to card games and power creep. Did you know that Yu-gi-oh games used to last a lot more than 1 turn when it was first released and you just had half the hp you do now. HS will never get to that point because cards cost mana, but the 40 turns games will never come back.

I don’t know what game you are playing but I had multiple 30 turn games last week. Control is not the best archetype by any means but if you want to play grindy value games you can and there is plenty people that do. People are running greedy Warriors and greedy Druids, uou can sppt control Priests every now and then.
