Console hearthstone definitely has a market

Me and my wife played hearthstone, doing all grinds since release for like 5 years.

We didnt stop playing because it was too expensive

we stopped because it was too uncomfortable

We like console more than pc due to the ease of use, and it costs less and takes up much less space than our old pc’s (and less stuff to break or maintain)

Pc kinda sucks these days and its just uncomfortable to sit at a desk all day

But im not saying pc is bad, im just saying it doesnt work for us and many others

Mobile is just awful though, gaming on mobile is just awful. The battery drain, forward neck leaning and sore backs.

Not to mention updates usually breaking the game.

Now ive heard console hearthstone ideas getting hate, i dont know why.

“There is no market for card games on console” not true lmao

“Its too hard to code all the card interactions”

No its not lmao, they cards are programmed with a strict set of rules that automatically communicates with the other pieces in the game.

“Its not profitable enough” except all they do is profit lmao. Its one of the most expensive games to play, and doesnt require as much money to make.

Also, i mean most of the og players quit for a reason, might as well try to scoop up the console community, it is a bigger community anyways.

With the exception of Pokemon, I cant really think of a very popular turn based console game. But even then, that game is mostly single player so if you afk for forever on your turn to go tend your dinner in the kitchen, you aren’t affecting anyone and can be assured you dont need to rush back for fear of roping. I just dont see the people in the console market as a viable one mainly from lack of any other turn based games being of any prominence already. I could be out of my element here as I havent played a non Blizz game other than the pokemons and Smash bros since like 2005 so Im no expert on what Im bringing up. But Im aware of other franchises and other popular titles (tho not nearly all of them). For example, it wasnt until Blizz made Heroes of the Storm that I encountered any game like it. I was told it was a clone of something else, I think its called a Dota? Not sure. But since then I was aware of a game called League of Legends because I would be corrected when talking to people and being confused thinking they were using the term lol wrong with weird capitals. (LoL). So im perfectly aware of my ability to have big blind spots in this field so Im not overly confident in my assertions. But Im sure they have looked into console platforms as an additional revenue generator and my instinct says the cost of converting the coding of the game and maintaining the updates and changes for it as well as keeping it stable when the platforms have their own updates too would just be too much of cost to make it worthwhile to them. Even if they broke even and it was as if it cost 0 to do it but made them 0 in the end, that’s still a no from a business perspective.

Just my instincts as to why it hasnt already been done. Other ideas come to mind like what they would have to agree to with the console companies to be on their platforms (percentage of in game purchases given to them, etc) Also with many countries and their laws about lootboxes / gambling/ children targetting and demographics, etc, may just be a storm they’d rather avoid.

Truth is op, actiblizz is too lazy and greedy to break into the console market, even with their parent company (maybe) soon being a major console player.

Considering they can’t even make native accessibility for blind players, and that had to be done by a thrid party, which is now up in the air…it tells you just how much they care about the comfort and accessibility of their games.

In the end, they only see their customers as walking wallets, and nothing more.

I don’t mind if they do it on console. But everyone has a PC, especially when everyone worked or studied from home in covid time…
BUT
I would prefer if they focused their resources on improving and balancing the game!!!

It’s not like they are a multi billion dollar company that couldn’t devote resources to both…

oh wait, this is actiblizz and team 5 we’re talking about here. Expecting them to walk and chew gum at the same time would lead to a high number of them passing out from forgetting to breathe.

You understand the CoD console market DWARFS PC, right? And Diablo 3 killed it on consoles.

What a ignorant take. Next time. Spend 5 seconds thinking before hitting that post button.

Unironically posted.

Next time try reading the entire post before you go default “company can do no wrong.”

I did read the entire post. It was a pointless endeavor and contributed literally nothing except showing the world your ignorance.

Didn’t even come close to saying that. I literally have a topic on the front page criticizing Blizzard.

Are you willingly ignorant, or do you just not know any better?

Clearly not, but keep

also, thanks for bumping the topic. It’s the one thing people like you do that’s actually helpful in highlighting the company’s incompetence in issues like this.
