This time i’m buying the pre order because it looks good and well designed.
It has some game balancing issues but as a player nothing here is really as bad as people wanna paint.
For the obvious game balancing issues gonna put 2:
Unkiliax got more support.
At this point just remove the virus module from the card.
It is the third time a nerf needs to occur because of a combination involving it.
The naga who discounts spells in Shaman.
Basically that discount is busted.
Now to the positive side:
Overall the game is more interactive.
It isn’t that the combos to finish don’t exist anymore. It is just that when you have cards from other classes other people can punish one trick decks easier.
It not solves the games problems but i really like the addition and it makes the game a little better.
The cards do seem very exciting; however, I’m skeptical about the power level shown. A lot of streamers complained about the power level in Theorycrafting being slightly excessive. I think I’ll just take it easy this expansion, not push for ranks, and simply enjoy the cards because the competitive part of it won’t be of interest to me. A lot of solitaire was shown.
This is going to vex people very quickly. Drop unkilliax, let them die. Play hydration station to summon 2 more. if the opponent deals with them drop another hydration station to summon 3 more. If the opponent manages to deal with them play boom for 2 more.
Odyn warrior is going to be oppressively broken. With not just ramp and hydration station but sleep under the stars from druid, they have it all. Sleep under the stars is gain 15 armor (or draw cards, OR refresh mana crystals, but mostly gain armor after odyn drops). Its the ultimate flex card that does it all. And Tortollian traveler will pull unkilliax and reduce its cost by 2, so unkilliaxes will be dropping turn 5 with trail mix.
30 minutes? My control matches often go to fatigue and rarely last 20 minutes. I’d say 5-10 minutes is the average. The days of 30+ minute matches are over, unless you are mirror priest.
Just realizing, 10 minutes is still like 3x longer than a game of Snap. Imagine the lack of attention the next generation is going to have…
Can someone give a rundown of what stood out in the theorycrafting streams? I haven’t had time to watch. From what I saw, I saw there’s some talk about an OTK druid deck with the new 1 mana mage drink and mana discounts. That makes sense, I don’t expect the greedy ramp druid to do as well as people were fearing (at least at the beginning), but a turn 6 OTK with spell power + discounted drinks sounds scary and oppressive.
Huh? 10 minute difference isn’t very hyperbolic. I wasn’t trying to be the “fun police.” That is your idea of fun, is it? I was more just pointing out facts, and hey, maybe you should try control if time is the issue and games aren’t so long these days?
I have no idea what hyperbole has to do with being a “Control Player”.
But I am seeing why HS is so bad right now: it can’t be like Snap. Cards in HS have cool effects and payoffs. For instance, take Headless Horseman: you wait all game, how often do you use it after getting the head? Maybe once or twice a game? The faster this game gets, the more bonkers they have to make payoffs, because there is no time to enjoy them.
If cool things happened every game they would not be cool anymore.
Again. People not understanding card games basic trying to dictate what other people should like or not.
Hearthstone is in bad shape exactly because blizzard does not accept the price of make the choice and Go into an actual direction.
It can backfire and kill the game ?
100%.Possible
But as it is the game is dying anyway but slowly and painfully.
Just get hid of the Power reset cult by tellling they no in an expressive way that the community understands.
Thanks.
Um, okay. You seem to be doing exactly that. I was merely suggesting you could play Control. You are now telling me how to be, and that I shouldn’t want cool things to happen? Whatever. Your opinion and thought process is just poor.
If I play a card, I don’t need it to always “do the cool thing.” I’m saying the pay offs don’t even matter. Most of them are just board wipes. And when they aren’t, you rarely actually get to play them much. You wait all game to use the Headless Horsemen, then even if you get to use it, it’s just over. You know? It’s underwhelming. Disappointing. That sort of thing.
Watching it a little to get the drops, the card for which I had the most hype changed from the sand castle, to Lynessa, I had not taken into account its synergy with the coins and how that allows you more possibilities for ridiculous turns…
However, I joined the train of not pre-purchasing unless they confirm if there will be a new board, however, since i don’t have any gold saved xD I will get only the tavern pass…
Unfortunately, this seems to be the standout deck that stole the spotlight. It even caused HS Youtuber Ecore 100 to quit the game. The frustration he experienced during Theorycrafting solidified his decision to stop posting about the game. It was a Turn 5 OTK from 30 Health while he also had board presence.
One can check out his last video on his YouTube channel to see what happened. I think it’s on the 2-minute and 30-second mark.
Apart from that, the rest of the decks seem okay in comparison, especially when compared to Druid. Druid has overshadowed any hype surrounding other decks. There’s also Warrior, but streamers mostly experimented with the Ryecleaver big minion dump deck rather than the actual meta deck, which will probably involve some iteration of Brann, Zilliax, Marin, and similar cards deck.
In terms of making sense, I don’t think you can go down any further than you already. You’ve been in the wrong since the start, and continue to fail to realize it. Unnecessarily aggressive simply because I commented that control games are very fast these days.
