We’re aware of an issue where players could still receive the 16 cards that were added to the Classic set later in Hearthstone’s history from Classic and Golden Classic packs between when the 20.0 patch was released (3/25) up until shortly after expansion launch (3/30). We’ll be identifying players who received these cards during this five-day window, and issuing Arcane Dust equivalent to a full refund for each card from the following list in the coming days:

UPDATE #2: Due to an error in the original compensation for this issue, a number players were undercompensated yesterday. We’ve issued a second round of dust just now to those players who received less dust than anticipated yesterday.
A dust refund for Legacy cards is good and all, but I bought the Classic and Golden Classic bundles in order to get the last legendary I needed to complete the Classic set - Velen. Instead I got duplicate legendaries of Mukla, Millhouse Manastorm and Garrosh Hellscream.
Will players in this situation also get compensated somehow? Maybe with a full re-roll of the packs involved?
Edited to note that I have never received a Velen ever (never disenchanted one, never pulled one from a pack, ever). Probably he wasn’t in the “Possible to pull from Classic packs bucket” because he was still in the “HoF bucket” instead.
I actually think it would have been better to open them early. I could have filled out my collection of all the newer Classic epics and two legs I’m missing from the list above, then I could have used the dust to craft the two legs and handful of epics I’m still missing from the classic Classic collection.
Same here. I already owned all the classic cards except for those in the HoF. The duplicate protection mechanism should make sure i would get the remaining cards. But i got a duplicate deathwing. We should also have a dust refund for these duplicate cards.
I purchased the golden classic bundle and received High Inquisitor Whitemane as the additional “bonus” legendary that is given outside of the packs - am I right in thinking I will receive a full dust refund (3200 dust) for that card as well?
Considering I spent $20 with the intention to get literally one HoF card to complete the Classic set, I’d feel really ripped off if the fix is left at just dust compensation for Legacy cards.
Pretty much everyone who bought these bundles (or saved Classic packs) were trying to complete their set.
If some Classic cards were literally unobtainable from the packs/bundle rewards because they were in HoF, a lot of people are gonna be really salty.
There needs to be a compensation for the HoF Classic cards not being obtainable through the packs or bundle legendaries.
Same problem here - epics I was missing from Hall of Fame that opened as non-HoF epics. Rares worked after the fix so I hope this is addressed in some form.
I opened 40+ classic packs this morning including one golden pack, getting all kinds of duplicated legendary and epic cards. How a compensation like this work for people like me??? Please at least re-roll all the classic packs we owned prior to today so we can re open it.
Had the same issue, waited until the rotation. the really annoying part is the extra legendary on top of the bundle, got Natalie Selime, which youre not supposed to get, so those refunds better be good.
Isn’t the dust refund the compensation? You’ll get dust equal to the value of the cards you opened, which means you should have enough dust to craft a copy of Velen.
