So I’m sure the few repeating people on the forums on here will know I’m a Druid Main, and etc - and something was brought up during the QA panel much aren’t talking about. Class Identity - and this topic kind of hurt to hear with the Druid Example , those who didn’t watch or seen the video, here you go i’ll mark the video at the spot.
For those who don’t wish to watch to sum it up. This year they’re planing to remove cards like Wraith and Swipe (I would assume starfall and etc also) but we’ll be getting cards that are “feral” like Pounce - but Isn’t Swipe Feral? It’s literally a Feral Druid most use attack even in WoW - so that’s sitting weird with me. and Yes I do play Druid on Warcraft also, so I’m not just trying keep swipe.
You can do a simple search on any Feral Druid build and see Swipe is their cleave hit… I even made a Tweet to him and I’ll update if he explains reasoning, but I feel like this is topic for people to say What they do see and agree is in this case.
Do you Agree Swipe is a Feral Druid Attack and feel like the Dev’s had oversight on that? OR they know what they’re doing and I’m just being stupid?
P.S I had a Touch up on this statement before on other post, but I’ll Quote it here.
So with this information and We do know 1 card coming back ‘Menagerie Warden’ as a 5 4/4 summon a beast copy - we can Assume Beast Druid cards are coming back, and with no real release time we can start assuming which cards of old are coming back.
feral has had swipe since literally vanilla in wow. you can log into the classic wow client right now and check. if it’s supposed to be more feral than balance then that really doesn’t make sense.
Hearthstone and Wow aren’t and never have been the same thing. It sounds like the devs mean “attack based” when they say feral. Swipe is a direct damage spell so doesn’t fit the bill.
i lobe Feral Druid get some love for this year but it likely be bottom tire deck that no one going use because Odd are DH would be able do everything Feral Druid can but way better (- Armor)
but I wish mostly because I what stop going “hahahah Big minion Spam win” or “hahah token spam for win” (do enjoy eclipse Druid and Beast Druid in wild)
That’s not necessarily true statement, Hearthstone IS base off Warcraft’s stuff - they do “spin offs” but most the stuff they DID pull is from Warcraft no matter how you look at it.
Not trying sound rude, but Attack Base - and Attack Style and Attack spells ARE the same thing, we learn this long time ago when they said Priest wasn’t suppose to have Attack base stuff outside of minions , which is why smite was nerf to no longer hit face.
And Swipe can be argue it’s very much as a Feral attack also as what do Feral Tigers do? They bite, claw, swipe, pounce all their preys. Swiping is a common thing with all Feral and wild life creatures that attack. And even if you wish to say “the card art saying it’s a bear” and I say Savage Roar has the same card art - and Druid of the Claw looks like bears in their forms also, and Bears are Feral creatures also.
Fact being swipe is a feral feature even outside of “Warcraft” - even in D&D this is a case with most “Feral Druids/creature” attacks.
I’m not saying that I know why. Just postulating. I’m looking at what’s leaving and what’s staying from a mechanics standpoint. If “swipe” had been named “burning rain” we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
I get that, but you can see what he said in the video he clearly said Feral Druid which is a type of Druid that has history, as I said I can get Wraith and Starfall and etc, but if they want it in relations of Feral shouldn’t Swipe be staying.
