Cheaters and hackers causing lag on my turn only

ive noticed that there seems to be something going on with certain players that will lag me out on my turn when i am doing game changing plays. i will always lag out and then reconnect on his turn with none of my plays being played…its been happening alot and very noticeable. it its not my connection either since im using the best internet in my area.

is there some kind of 3rd party program that can do this? if there is a have a bunch of players ive recorded that this has happened to me.

The thing is it may not be your ISP but the connection through the internet server chain to Blizzard’s servers.

yes that could be it also, but just seems to be more than a coincidence when it happens. always happens on my turn when the game is close then after i cant play my cards and he gets to play his and win…the lag disappears.

It seems HS cant connect properly if you have lag or disconnect

I’ve just spent a week in a cottage where the signal dipped from full bars to zero bars simply moving 1 foot in any direction. It was a PITA but I managed to find some decent holes in the trees and a strong signal at the dock, but I digress.

During that week I was BM’d as though I was roping people, I would make entire plays just to have the game reconnect and I’d have little to no time left to make the play I just made… Frustrating to say the least lol. BUT that’s because they changed how the clients speak to the server a few patches back. Once they made that change it helped keep games from being a disconnect loss but created some phantom activities, just like what you are describing. It appears like they are doing it to you but in reality it’s a sync issue on your end and all your opponent sees is that you’re not doing much of anything.

I know we all feel like our internet is reliable but we all know 100% better than that. When I want my highest speeds I reset the modem before doing what I need done. When I want it reliable I leave it connected and have added a UPS to keep it alive in a power outage. Even still I will get interruptions from the microwave, the baby monitors around my home, the numerous other WiFi routers clogging up the airwaves, Oh and let’s not forget that most TV providers have started using your ‘bundled’ internet to send you the TV programs you’re watching, unless you’re satellite of course. We have 2 TiVo boxes and when they are on some of the premium channels (non-streaming) the internet cuts in and out for brief milliseconds, which are enough to boot me off my games without telling me the internet went out… I’ve felt like Sherlock Holmes figuring all this stuff out. It started because of online poker games that I would get disconnected from. But again I’m off track.

The system goes You<>HS SERVER<>Opponent. The HS server doesn’t allow them to ping you directly and acts as a kind of VPN of sorts. Now that’s not to say they couldn’t find you outside of the game. But I won’t go into location hacking. YouTube has some great info on how to protect yourself from that kind of thing. Default router settings are bad

Anyway, hope your games go better.

thanks that was very informative. it would make sense hs server would screw me out of my win streaks lol.
