Secrets are super powerful again. Namely mage, objection and counter spell being the worst to play around.
You can play around secrets but there’s not a good tech option in standard now.
I’d like to see secret eater or a “destroy all secrets in play” mechanic.

We have Tight Lipped Witness, but I’m pretty sure it can be countered by Objection. Any “destroy secrets” minions would be likewise countered by Objection, and any spell would get countered by Counterspell.

Objection counters all minions before they’re played, and counterspell counters all spells before they’re played. Objection counters secret eater and counterspell counters flare. There is no way to tech one card to deal with mage secrets anymore.

so you tech more than one.

So you lose while you die trying. 3head

whining over a maybe tier 2 deck in a meta where at least five decks beat it.
#typical.

If only I was ever allowed to say this about any Paladin deck ever on this board
Nah I don’t really think secrets are OP but I would like a better counter tech option.

I’m cool with tech for them, and I’m sure Team 5 will do something, but a card that counters both objection and CS seems excessive. IDK maybe if it’s expensive.

I don’t understand this hate for objection. The card is specifically designed to punish decks that play powerful one off minions without any tempo/throw away minions. If you are playing a deck of all super impactful minions that’s a deck building issue not a card issue.

I play big one of powerful minions. I HATE objection

If you ask me it’s the same old whine as always.
“I lost to a secret mage.” ergo kill it with fire.

I dislike secret rogue more - but mainly when it spams mage secrets and can generally throw out a lot of secrets.
Secret mage I’m kinda fine with. I try to play round them which is kind of the point.
Rogue is annoying because you don’t know what they’ve discovered which makes playing around it much harder.
It’s not oppressive but I do find it annoying
The best way to counter secrets is triggering them with useless cards.
Tech cards against secrets are good only when there are decks built around secrets or when a secret is so powerful it needs a counter (ice block)

Use a bait spell/creature*. You’re welcome, fam.
*If you NEED all of the spells/creatures in your deck to go towards a single win condition, that’s on you.
Neutral Location: Destroy all enemy Secrets.

Guy hits legend for first time now starts making requests…
There are several minions that either destroy or take control of enemy secrets. Ive used them for years in nearly every deck like I do with the weapon destroying ooze and silencing owl. I personally love the one that copies all their secrets for yourself so now you know exactly how to play around their traps.
And these no longer function with mage objecting to the minion before its effect hits the game, which is the point here.
Mages can now counter the minions that counter secrets AND counter spells at the same time.

Or a neutral weapon
But both need to be strong to be worth putting in your deck.
Like neutral location: choose one:
- draw a card
- destroy an enemy secret
- silence a minion
Or something similar.
But in the end like someone already said: you have to play around secrets with the cards you have in your deck before wasting a slot for the tech.
