Can we fix the slow battlegrounds animations already?

I was having what looked to be an extremely slow matchup against a beasts opponent who had half a dozen different animation generators (+stats on damage, etc.). I had 100% chance to beat him, but then was facing a tough fight after that for #1. I figured I’d better quit and reconnect so that I had time to take my turn, except that I wasn’t reconnected to the game, I just lost by default.

It’s extremely aggravating for being punished for watching a slow game due to an opponent’s build, and even more aggravating to have to rely on a gimmick to get past it, and even more aggravating to just lose when that workaround fails.

That’s not an issue of speed of animations, that’s the Devs being dumb and not fixing their game. If someone takes a lot of time it should not be a handicap to the other player.

It’s probably best to have a “moments later…” skip mechanic (it goes in line with their Art-oriented culture), but good luck hoping for those Devs to have the skill to do that.
