Bring polling to the game

Let us vote on a updates and changes Like they do in RuneScape. Honestly more games should adopt this.

Don’t worry, Blizzard does that already, which is why the game turns often bad.

E.g. people “loved their Reno” so we had to suffer for that nonsense for years.

If Blizzard knew how to design games they’d know how to ignore “polls”.

They don’t or the game would be in a better state. Listening to what they think is the loudest voices is not the same as each person having a voice.

Technically they are listening to their largest player base. That would be the mobile players who like how the game is. Otherwise they wouldn;t have fully embraced the mobile model. It’s important to know that those playing HS on a phone/tablet out number those on the PC by 100-1 easily if not more.

That if your right and they all vote, you will never know till you provide the option. You can assuming anything.

They are already voting. With their wallet. No need to take a poll.

Okay and we pc players can speak up in others ways if we assume all mobile players are a hive mind like it sounds like your suggesting, heck i play on both.
But I suppose we should just stop trying to suggest ways to better the game an just trust the devs right? Cuz that’s been working great.

I’m pretty sure the loudest voices were hating Reno, but they kept in unnerfed for 2 expansions. It’s because they knew people were playing it a lot.

People tend to follow the path of least resistance. They WILL play easy to play decks that are overpowered.

I saw voices defending reno too.
I think he was a good counter play against certain things but he did help hold back the new starship mech alot.
However after two patch changes Starships still aren’t seeing play in most classes. One example being hunter being one of the only classes not just playing armor Starship and most other classes won’t play their Starships until rotation.
With a polling system we could have potentially suggested other options we could have taken , but we’ll never know.

What? Starship hunter is one of the best decks in the current meta.

That’s my point. It’s one of the only starships playable even after two rounds of balance patches.

Most others are just running the armor starship piece.

Sorry that sentence was worded in a way that made it sound like Hunter cannot play starships outside of just throwing in the armor one. My bad.

It’s all good, I did a edit hopefully it’s clearer now to others who read it.

Another way to look at the problem that would cause, is that people don’t know how to design games. People’s knee-jerk reaction is to always want it easier to win.

Have you ever gotten the cheat codes of a video game? You may think you wanted them but it made the game dull and you stopped playing.

worse not better

reno got its weakness to plagues removed because people asked for it …we had several nerfs and changes for the worse made by popular demand …

Or in Gwent… When they decided to give up on supporting or developing the game further and left it for the community, whatever remained of it, to do the balancing work. Is that what your propose? That HS enter the same state as Mercs? :grinning:

Ooh, be careful with what you wish for.

No need to go far — just look at these forums. What did they say, ‘community moderation’, i.e. normal content flagged and auto-removed, while trolls thrive, the whole forums generally being a dump as a result of exactly this approach, based on casting ‘votes’?

Even if a lot of HS players weren’t some of the most miserable sods out there, which they apparently are, so relying on them would be an especially bad idea, even a shabby ‘dictator’ designing the game (and, well, whom am I trying to decieve, it pertains to much more than just that, but that’s probably outside the scope of this topic) is generally better than any kind of ‘democracy’ you propose, that of a sheep herd at best, — less of a mess as a result, at the very least, and possibly some hope for at least a consistent course of action.

Well that’s why RuneScape does not do just over 50%, you need 75% of votes for something to pass and they have their share of miserable sods.
But it’s helped keep the game in the top mmo’s. The devs still put on the big boy pants when something has to change for the health of the game aka Nightmare mode if you know what that is.

They already do try to listen to some of the player base, the problem is: they hear more from the reddit than here.
Just look at the current set of core cards, it’s full of the old trollish memes like dirty rat and so on.

the reddit is more active so it makes sense they pay more attention to reddit

right not it shows 286 people online…this forum probably has 10 or less

Nah it’s more sinister than that. They feel they have us in the bag here (already playing the game).

On reddit they have a chance to promote the game to redditors who don’t play the game.

If a subreddit post becomes too popular it goes to the front page of reddit.

Or at least it has a chance to go to the front page rarely.
