Hsreplay disagrees.
Priest ALONE has 10+ minutes global duration, just barely, for its most popular deck.
The rest hover around the 8 minute mark… Just like I said!

Deck tracker only counts pure game time. For gold/hour gain, you really need to add time between games too. I really never timed it, so I can only guess at 1-2 min/game.
You claimed 10-12 minute global average. Provably false with HSreplay.
I got the 12 min from the gold/xp calculation and assumed that’s the number blizzard sees.
And you’re not disproving that with your numbers either. 8+2 min = 10 min. Add some connection problems, game crashes, a break every now and then and you’ll easily get over 12 min global average.
Although I guess there’s also turn1 concedes, but I would guess those are excluded from any calculations (they are included in deck tracker data though).
I’m not 100% sure it’s capped at 400 XP/hour might an average rather than a max. I know based on my own numbers, you could earn as much as 450 XP per hour if you win all your games.
Good luck keeping a 100% winrate though.

So Swampy made up the “hard cap”?
That’s why I never make hard assumptions when I have only 1 source of information :).
Will do a time run with my face hunter tonight maybe. I just need to figure out how to not lose track of xp gained from other sources. Hmm I guess there are none if I dont finish the weeklies and don’t click on achievements.
He didn’t make anything up. The devs were pretty clear about 400 XP/hour being a good estimate of how much XP you can make. It doesn’t look like it’s a hard cap, but given the wording on the devs’ comments, assuming it’s capped at 400 XP/hour isn’t entirely unreasonable.
Well I saw the claim on Blizz estimate (that one most definitely does not look like any claim of hard cap) and I assumed that’s for the 12 min/game number I got from the xp/g calculation with the assumption of everything else being “free”.
I then surmised face hunter would top that 400 xp/h, but he claimed it’s a hard cap, but so far it’s the only place I saw it mentioned as a hard cap.
Obviously I will have to test it myself or I wouldn’t be me, but that’s for later.
Dude, look at the facts.
DH: 77k games, 8 duration
Druid: 11k games, 7.7 duration
Hunter: 57k games, 6 duration
Mage: 26k games, 9.3 duration
Priest: 12k games, 10.5 duration
Rogue: 22k games, 9.3 duration
Shaman: 9.8k games, 6.5 duration
Warlock: 7k games, 7.5 duration
Warrior: 30k games, 8.8 duration
Thats only using the most popular build for each class, it would get worse (for YOU) if I even went to the 2nd most popular build for each class.
No way in hell the global average game time is in the double digits.
The new system is awesome in concept, but they missed the mark big time in terms of tuning XP gains to match rewards per time spent with the old one.
XP needs to be increased, probably pretty drastically, and/or the amount of gold available on the reward track should be increased.
I’m personally more for bigger XP increases because the gaps in leveling in the higher levels just straight up feel bad.
I’m getting tired of ppl ignoring what I’m saying.
Go and measure time between games, add that to your numbers or stop repeating the same thign over and over.
Or do an actual run with actual deck for 1 hour, not excluding any down time. That’s also something interesting to add.
If you’re really sitting down and playing, time between games is often less than a minute unless you’re at top 200 legend territory.
I myself tend to use 10 minute matches as the average as I tend to play somewhat slower decks, but the global is going to be below that, even with requeuing.
Maybe you should do some actual research before posting then.
You have been proven wrong
you are the weakest link
goodbye
The “downtime” you are trying to use affects everyone, so is a moot point.
The discussion is about rewards vs time.
As it stands the rewards have decreased significantly
nothing you have sad changes that,
You’ll be fine, with the early xpac release you have an extra month this set to complete the track
Dont bet on it. They are moving next set to March, I all but guarantee it.
They had to get away from december releases after the last 2, but the 4 month window will remain.
I’d bet my bottom dollar on March for the next set.
I’ve been thinking otherwise, but as they actually mentioned the holidays as the reasoning for not launching in December you’re probably right.
Yep, gotta get away from december launches. Cant leave busted until the new year, need enough time to “properly” assess nerfs.
I predict March/July/November set launches in the future.
I mean, I remember DoD… I’m ok with getting away from December launches lol
I dunno, giving everyone an extra month in the new system means further progression on the track and thus everyone will do better than what they had expected to. That would be a win for Blizz.
Assuming they stay on course with an April release date, it’ll be interesting to see how well people fair under the normal 120 days as most will have forgotten they had extra time on the first go around of the battlepass
Maybe, but not the way my head works.
2 consecutive years with emergency nerfs before the Xmas break that could have been handled a bit better with a couple more weeks of assessment.
Like I said, I think March/July/November will be the new schedule going forward, and im 90% sure of it, enough so that I will put my money where my mouth is if im wrong.
