So i am trying to open hearthstone and i only see a black screen with no sound no nothing. I can wait forever and nothing move. I need to force shutdown. I update driver, windows, everything and nothing change.

Me too, roll back graphic drivers, and even with -force-d3d9, and resolution change
Same issue here. People talked about rolling back drivers. I am not doing that. I updated my graphics driver and tried the -force-d3d9 flag. Still getting the black screen of doom. While I’m not going to say it’s impossible, I doubt it’s some software conflict blocking it for me at least. My system is fairly clean. The one thing I did do recently was install WSL and Docker Desktop for some PHP development. But if that’s causing it, I would still put it back on Blizzard.

Looks like running a Scan & Repair actually fixed the issue for me. 
It works for both DirectX 9 and 11 now.
