Best way to open standard packs

Standard packs are in the shop and they can contain only standard cards, including the newest ones.

What’s your plan to open them?

Mine is the following:
when the next expansion comes out, I will open some of them (up to 10) to get a legendary.

Cons:

  • maybe I’ll get an old epic
  • maybe I’ll get an old legendary.

Pros:

  • I’ll get a legendary card in 10 packs or less
  • I’ll get commons/rares from the newest expansion only

Do you think it makes sense?
Is there a better way to use standard packs?

Maybe it is better to open them after having all the commons/rares of the newest expansion, so I’ll have a small chance to get nerfed cards that I dusted?

Your strategy seems good to me. I don’t have all the rares available so any opening strategy is about the same in my case.
