Battlenet install issues

play on a PC.
yesterday everything worked fine. Today Battlenet client took a dump on me. wouldnt open. uninstalled battlenet, restarted my computer. re-downloaded battlenet but it won’t install - i keep getting an error that’s preventing it from installing. all my drivers seem to be up to date. no conflicting programs that i know of. ive tried restarting again. cant seem to figure out whats preventing battlenet from installing. nothing has changed since i last played it and everything worked fine

any ideas how i can fix this problem and get battlenet to install?

Howdy Herodreamer,

In most cases I have seen, there is antivirus software blocking the install. If you are sure this isn’t the cause, then I would suggest a clean reinstall of the app:

  1. Uninstall the Blizzard app
  2. Next open the temp locations and delete any Battlenet and Blizzard folders you see in each location. Press Windows Key + R and type:
    • %LOCALAPPDATA%
    • %APPDATA%
    • %TEMP%
    • %PROGRAMDATA%
  3. Finally go ahead and reinstall the app from here.
  4. Try to install onto the C drive if possible

thanks for responding. that’s what ive tried but still getting the same error. i ran through it all again too. virus software is disabled.

been playing HS for 7 years and never had this happen before. i’m at a loss.

Howdy Herodreamer,

Based on what you described, you may want to try creating a new Windows user account to see if there’s any change. If you can install Hearthstone on that new user account, then that likely indicates something on the old user account causing a problem. If you can’t installing it on either user account, then there’s likely a deeper problem on the computer or a networking issue. Testing a hotspot could help narrow this down.

If you still need help, I recommend creating a support ticket with your MSinfo.
