I play Hearthstone for about 6 years, and i am a gamer for 24 years. I dont really use the forum much but i decided this is important to note.
Battlegrounds timer mechanic is really really bad. I cant say how many games i lost cause the timer but im sure more than 150, and it has been like this for at least 2 years.
Going straight to the point, as i am tired of waiting to this to be patched:
1- You need to remove or decrease DRASTICALY the animations time on all the game but specially on battlegrounds!
i sugest at least 50% on the animations time on all general cards. and 80% on Leapfrogger (make i a fast and simple ticking sound)
2- make timer count only when shoping starts ( i understand all what would this involve ) OR just increase timer.
if timer starts when shopping it would make it much more manageable for player to shopping, but would make other players wait for others games to end. And with this you could add a spetacular feature of spectating other players game.
Extra Notes:
If players come to game, they want to play and not so much stay looking for animations. The battlegrounds and hearthstone in general has already tons of randomness but at least give us the chance to make the plays and make it a little rewarding for our skill.
Today i had a ridiculous game where i had literaly 18 sec time to play on 1 turn and 0 sec on the next turn! Before this turns i was already struggling with time and just buying cards randomly just to keep 1 mana extra on next turn and my hand got full easly.
This is a complete absurd. I many times have already to start planing what i will shop before shoping comes and do everything too fast.
It would be nice if you give the players the time to set the board and make their mana strategy more eficient.
Also because time is a problem many times i forget setting the order minions on board.
I honestly think you need real good game testers to help you develop the game, make it way more competitive and fair. Game is quite fun but struggles too hard with this factors. I dont know why you dont make a deal with players like kripp or some streamers. You can also interview me and propose something like that to me if you want 
.
You could also add something like a extra time button on the game when rope starts you could have a button to give you extra seconds to finish your plays, and this would be a time effective feature cause you would only spend more time when you really need.
Or you could add ready button and drastically increase turn times. If all ready battle imediatly starts and no need to wait more.
But really do something about it this is really the most ridiculous mechanic you have on this game, fix it asap!
Stop spending so much on markting. I remember that you noted kasparov as a hearthstone player, i am also chess player i dont think kasparov loves hearthstone, who are you trying to sell this?
Focus on fixing first the game mechanics, and strategy. The nerfs and updates on cards are nice but it really doesnt affect the game not even close as this features i noted!
