Battlegrounds simple change to make the experience better

I love Battlegrounds, I’ve played it a lot since it’s release, I’m absolutely hook but there is a few things that truly need improvement.

a. Tarven 5 and 6 cost need to be increased.

I remember a time when tier 6 minions were mostly irrelevant. I find great that now, we’ve got interesting and powerful minions there but they are far too easy to reach, they are too impactful on their own and there is too many great choices that you’re very rarely punished in doing so.
At the moment, everybody just try to highroll into one and there is always 1-3 guys succesfully doing it wrecking the game early on for everyone else.
There would be many way to improve the situation but they all would require a lot of work, design and balacing or simply increase both tavern 5 and 6 cost to make them harder and riskier to get.

b. Increase the amount of turn before you can meet the same opponent from 3 to 4 at minimum.

I’ve played many games where I get into top3 even top2, in certain (rare) cases, where I find myself against an opponent I never met before and so many game where I face the very same opponent for the third time when I never faced up to half of the other players in the lobby.
Getting beat up by the very same opponent 3 times in a row when you never met half the player is beyond frustrating and serve no purpose. Just increase it to 4 it will make the game way less frustrating. At least if you got kick out in a turbo top8, it will be because you’re behind most of the lobby, not because the same highroller stomped you 3 times in a row.

c. Rework shield to make it stronger and streamline down highroll.

15 max damage when no players are out is way too little. 15 is almost 50% of your base life, that’s just way too much. Right now, taking 15 is practically a death sentence in most cases. It should start at 10 and go to 15 when someone dies and be free of restrictions when only the top4 remains.
It will help later heroes and streamline down early highroller.

d. Add a “ready to fight” skip button.

A very simple feature that require no modification to the HUD of the game and would dynamize greatly the flow of it would be the addition of a “ready to fight” or “skip your turn” button on the top of the remaining time button. If everybody is good and ready, why waste 45 seconds waiting for the round to start ? There is already a button there, doesn’t require much work to allow it to end your turn and start the round if everyone’s good to go.

e. Lack of scaling of stat hero power have been an issue since forever.

Most of the time (there is exceptions of course), since the release of the game, heroes who gives extra stats to their board have been globally weak because of how strong and fast the power creep is in the game. they are supposed to be strong early on and punish later champion but they got outscaled so fast they are weak past turn 3 to 5. Either change their hero power into something else or make them scale through the game or massively size down power creep and highroll to make them more relevant and fulfill their role to punish better scaling heroes.
this goes for tribes too, dragons have been a joke, scaling wise, for a long time.

A lot of the issues I brought in this topic can be resumed to make this game less highroll and more streamlined. Simply because I think the game would be more interesting this way and less frustrating.
Yes, highrolling a game is incredibly fun but when you think about it, for 1-2 highroller there is 6-7 rekt players, do the math.
I feel that at the moment, it’s more important to be lucky than good at the game to progress. It’s not a good feeling and no matter what there will always be highroll, so nothing wrong to make it a little bit harder.

Punish this. Its not tough to knock someone out when theyre racing to tier 6. Their board will fall too far behind and you can simply kick them out of the game before any value is accrued.

no not everybody.

they literally already are. Just play for tempo instead of playing the same way they are. Youre just giving them breathing room by doing the exact same thing

lol this doesnt happen. Maybe you’re using hyperbole but yeah I cant remember fighting the same person twice in a row let alone 3 times. Dont use strawmen to prop up your argument my boy.

Lol As compared to when you could just die because the damage stop didnt even exist. You surviving one extra turn isn’t changing the fact you’re taking 30 twice in a row. Build a better board next time.

yes. Ideally. But it would simply never work if it required everyones participation. I know I at the very least would rope every turn out of spite for the general playerbase. mmmm schaudenfreude

One isn’t better than the other. You gotta strike a balance my guy. Maybe its too high roll-ey right now and can be toned back but you making it sound like its only luck that wins a game is …well its stupid and you need to be told its stupid.

Literally always. At all times. In all places. This isn’t a bad thing or even an astute observation.

If they get it, they get it, but if they’re going for T5/6 super early, then tempo them out of the game. Ez.

Pretty sure the math would make this impossible and also unfair. It happens now, but why should we make someone struggling at the bottom face a guy up top? Why would someone want to play KNOWING this is how it works on purpose?

15 is fair. If you’re getting hit for 15, you’re either doing as you said in “A”, which you said isn’t good thing due to “highrolls”, or you’re playing the game wrong.

This will never happen.

I half-agree with this one. There are some Heroes who are just not playable. However, this is how power creep works. Some Heroes went up in power level this latest update due to their synergy with what’s new. Some Heroes, however, could use a rework. How long has it been since we’ve seen Nefarian?

This game is part skill and part gamble. If someone wants to roll the dice and try to get a high power minion before turn 7, that’s on them, but it’s not a guarantee a win.

So those who got lucky should be punished because the other players didn’t? Makes no sense and sounds more unfair than what you’re saying.

It’s always important to be lucky in a highly-RNG based game, especially an auto-battler, and you can still lose if you don’t play correctly. Let’s say you grab Lady Deathwhisper in this meta; it’s only good if you actually have the minions to correlate with it.

All in all, to me it sounds like you can do one of two things: 1) play however you want Hero/Tribe/Strategy and just enjoy playing or B) if you’re trying to climb, then you have to go with what’s good, and you’ll want to use what’s strong to win; tho, even if you get one good minion, it doesn’t necessarily mean “You Win” if you’re not good at the game.
