So I just got 3rd place in a battlegrounds match today and lost 3 points on my rating. How is this a thing? Are battlegrounds bugged or something? You should always get some points if you are in the top 4. Heck, sometimes I get 1-2 points if I place 5th.

The higher you go up in rank getting 4th and 3rd doesn’t guarantee positive points. Same as when the reset happens and you get 6th or 7th you get positive points. Grats on getting higher up. I’m usually 6500-7500 so 3rd is usually -5 to +5 and 4th is usually like -10 to -20. Probably depends on rating of others or something also because I’ve had 4th also give me like +10 or so. I noticed around 4-5k I think 5th still can occasionally give positive points too. Just depends I guess on ranking of you and others.
What’s your mmr? Also, sometimes you can be paired up with much lower ranking mmr players, which will affect the netted amount of points.
