Battlegrounds duos sorting/ranking/playerpool unballanced

So im only posting this to hopefully get the community to thumb this enough the devs will listen. (doubtful even then, but worth the try)

ok so maybe im the weird one here. but it feels to me like the game que/sorting mechanism is severely broken in battlegrounds. the longer a season goes on, the worse the pool gets as time moves on. I refuse to believe that with the mechanics of a digital card game that some kind of optimal ranking/player experience sorting system does not exist.

so there is zero reason why people with 2 games completed of a certain mode should be paired with people who have 200+ games completed of a certain mode.

on the flipside. if an experienced player goes afk in a game, there is no reason that you can not detect that no cards moved in a certain round, or that too few movements per (time) happened in too many rounds in a game. and if you trigger this, your ranking should tank by 4x. this would create boundaries between competitive and casual players. it should already be in place.

right now. im sitting at 3k-5k rank. its duos. there should be no reason a player with literally dozens of completed games experience be paired with someone having their first go at it.
this doesnt happen every blue moon either, it happens every 3rd-4th game. after a couple of times your like ok, let me try to help the new guy. after that, when your in a loosing streak and it happens. Thats annoying.

make it worse with the trolls out there who honestly only intend on starting a game then go afk, 2-3 rounds, play a round, then go afk probably the rest of the game. I can think of no less then 10 different ways to insure that people who repeatedly troll in game would never make it out of the pool. into a game.

and while Im complaining. the mobile version, FANTASTIC idea. the app is horrid. no reason at all to have as many zoom related bugs with the ui that exists.

I hope the active readers in this forum agree with most of this post and bump it. ALOT.

Duos will make you suffer if you take it seriously, unless you play with friends or online-friends. This is true for all online games with teams.

They may seem fun at the start when it’s easy, but if you take them seriously and rank a little: you will be trolled.

I see your point. And I didnt state that I was not trying to be competitive beyond just playing the game.

And competitive or not, it would be a major quality of life change to implement if it doesnt exist a pool system that makes sense.

AI offers some really powerful options for removing trolls, or identifying trolling behavior.

Nah I don’t think banning will ever get rid of them. They keep coming back anyway.

It’s an inherent attribute of all team games to be better with friends.

i tried duos once and it was terrible. too few teams to make it fun. a bad teamate building idk what, and rng can also mess your team up more quickly because your or your teammates failing will dmg the other as well.

Duos is absolutely terrible and not fun

Even above 7k rating I feel that I get paired with players trying out the game or mode for the first time, but also our enemies, so its probably fair, and maybe has something to do with average rating, its still just for fun

Public Rating and the hidden “Skill Rating” (MMR) are two different things. Someone playing BGs 24/7 can probably go 7K by mere brute force alone. Others who don’t go 7K may have a higher internal rating but because the system tries to also group people into public-ratings: you may only see them at the start of a season when you have not ranked yet.

Basically their prio seems to be “Match them by hidden rating, but try to not match high public rating with low public”.
