Battlegrounds Controls Mobile App

I’m really finding the controls for Battlegrounds frustrating on the mobile app, to the point where I’m losing rounds because if it. My main gripes are;

  1. Having to constantly open and close your hand in order to interact with Bob’s tavern and new minions. I understand they have to be purchased before being placed into the Battlefield, what I don’t understand is why they have to be moved to your hero portrate. It would be far more convenient to be able to keep your hand open, purchase a minion and drag it straight to your hand (and then quickly be moved from your hand to the battle field.
    At the moment you have to close your hand (animation), drag the minion to your hero (animation), open your hand again (animation) and the drag the minion to the Battlefield. In a game with very limited time, this faf is a serious disadvantage when compared to desktop app users.

  2. Why can’t you roll a new set of minions when you have your and open?
    It’s not as if you’re more likely to hit it by accident when you have your hand open, again it just causes pointless waits for animation that helps to lessen what you can do in your turn.

  3. General question, why is there so widely differing amounts of time? Sometimes I have 70 seconds, sometimes 40

  1. I think this serves two reasons.
    A- It allows general small screen users to simply swipe all the way down on their screen to buy a minion without worrying about placing it on their side of the field if they do not wish to trigger any effects just yet.
    B- Since it is beta, I think the devs did these transitions in response to increasing the amount of recruitment phases so that people can adjust to the battleground mindset. If you are a die hard hearthstone player this is a push in an odd direction if you prefer ease of access or QoL as they call it. Regardless, that’s beta, things being tested out.

  2. I think this is a mobile strategy for small screens. You might not have that issue but for the general mobile public they might. Which is why this kind of feedback is tallied in the end before the devs make final adjustments.

  3. There are 8 players. Not all players spend the same amount of time in a duel, some take longer, some take shorter. I think the timer acts as a statistically judged timer between peoples next battles based on their current/future matches. All in all I really like the way the system works. Later on when you start having 10 gold and the players decrease under 4 the timer gives you more and more time. This is usually because battles take longer to complete while the system tried to keep everything moving smoothly in multiple instances over their servers.

That’s my 2 cents on it anyway. I get that they are “gripes” so any form of responses might be met with harsh criticism, but my response is nothing more than my thoughts on what I’ve read.
