I will say if they are not going to play test decks before release, I do authentically appreciate that they seem to have moved to place where they are willing to react with relative speed when problems arise.
Although I think a lot of these problems could fixed out of the gate if they simply bothered to play test.

I canât really think of any blizzard games where itâs balanced especially when they release new patches. On overwatch for example they have a ptr but mainly just uses it to test bugs moreso than balancing.
Something probably needs to be done about Flesh Shaper. Using it as both removal and a way to get an 8 drop on the board at turn 4 is often game winning right there.
Thatâs pretty much the point of PTRs. Thereâs typically too little information generated and usually little to no matchmaking so the balance data theyâd get is not good enough to balance off of.
i have a golden copy of it so yea sure nerf the fleshs haper! xD
Seriously this, itâs amazing how short sighted the people on these forums are, with Blizzardâs vast resources, itâs stunning how an oversight of this magnitude could have happened.
I expect rogue to rise in both winrates and popularity, it was obliterated by shaman but really the galakrond package synergizes with Heistbaron and his shenanigans as well as extremely good draws for mid to late game, you can mix in a different package to the deck such as deathrattles since the galakrond really is a support for every rogue archetypes and not an archetype by itself.
Remember witchwood rotation. Shuderwock combo was just game breaking and cubelock was just on a whole different level above anything else. Why did we have to wait so long for something to be fixed.
Similar things happened before that.
I really think sometimes waiting for too long to fix stuff is just wrong and now itâs one of those cases. Doesnât matter if itâs new expansion. If thereâs literally no reason to play anything but shaman itâs a good thing they do something about it now.
Very much appreciated patch.

Hopefully the nerfs arenât too hard. Shaman is good no doubt but its kinda slow starting up so the mid range cards sorta need to be powerful to keep the deck viable.
Also everyone saying there are no counters?
Holy Wrath Paladins have been countering the shaman pretty well tbh at a 61.38% win rate. Also there are multiple other decks that are now showing a positive win rate vs shamans top deck. Such as Highlander Mage 50.86%, Deathrattle Rouge 50.36%, Quest Hunter 53.16%, and Combo Priests 51.19%. All according to hsreplay match up stats against the top Galakrond Shaman deck.

Not sure which one you call top shaman deck.
But the one on top of the meta, Galakrond shaman, has positive winrate s vs everything except holy wrath paladin, where itâs not even that terrible with 44%.
Tge other matchups you mention, I donât see them. As an example DR rogue has like 40% vs gala shaman
âWeâre sorry about Shaman. We spent the balance testing period playing Battlegrounds.â -Devs

Look at hsreplay again, that may have been true a day or so ago but things have changed. Whan i say top shaman deck im talking about the galakrond shaman with the highest win rate. Its still early in the meta things are changing daily, decks are starting to counter and all the decks i listed
in my previous post currently have a positive win rate vs the top galakrond shaman deck.
Check it out https://hsreplay.net/meta/#tab=matchups
Iâm just saying what I see today.
Galakrond shaman in hsr is still undefeated by everything not holy wrath.
Nope, check it out and scroll down to see decks that have a positive win rate.
Look here https://hsreplay.net/meta/#tab=matchups
Holy Wrath Paladin 61.38%
Highlander Mage 50.86%
Deathrattle Rouge 50.36%
Quest Hunter 53.16%
Combo Priests 51.19%
Not sure if trolling⌠But Im saying to you I just did (and did once more now)
Literally only negative winrate vs holywrath at 44.5% and all others extremely positive.
Even âyourâ counters barely reach 40%
Totally agree with that. Taking months for a balance update is one thing. But announcing balance changes on day 3 is another.
We havent even discovered what sort of decks outside of Gallakrond work yet.
Smells like a bad move to me.

Look at the left column going down those are the winrates of other decks against galakrond shaman!

Do you have a paid for version? Maybe that makes the difference between what i see vs what you see? idk
I mean i got those positive win rate decks directly from the link i posted.
The shaman quest should have always been to allow the next battlecry to trigger twice, not as many battlecries as the shaman can play to trigger twice. Thatâs been busted from the beginning.

For some reason (and I have the paid sub) the link wonât go to the matchup tab. I opened your link, then immediately copied the page it landed me on and got this, which is just the meta page:
Additionally, if I go to the most popular Galakrond Shaman deck and look at itâs matchups I have to go through paid filters just to see anything negative for it, and even then itâs nowhere near as optimistic as the matchups you posted above.
Wow, that was quick. I mean people warned this might happen. But still, it is a positive change. I give them props.
