So I came back to this game after about 5 years because my father played it with me all the time a decade ago. He passed away from brain cancer last month. Depressing, I know.
Regardless, I was a long time almost-free player. I dunno who else was a kid back then without purchasing power and fondly remembers Amazon webstore referral credit to buy the heroes lol. I disenchanted the really crappy cards like Echoing Ooze and Majordomo Executus after getting the whole set. I didn’t realize that this would preclude me from obtaining Diamond Reno Jackson and Loatheb. That sucks that the people who had to buy stuff piecemeal or disenchanted anything weren’t grandfathered into the achievement system for once having the collection. Greedy unethical company.
I came back also to see that everyone was given the meta and epic legendaries I disenchanted EVERYTHING ELSE, ALL THE FUN CARDS to craft back then. Just to see that everyone was given the meta ones without duplicates being given a full dust refund in compensation. Good to know that I crafted them at 1/4 efficiency for nothing. Greedy unethical company.
I go to Blizzard support hoping they’d be able to aid me in my plight. Nothing. Both responses look like they were written by an AI trained to preserve all company resources and profits. Anyway I kinda just wanted to express my displeasure here and see if anyone else experienced the exact same thing.
The diamond versions are collectors items, for you know collecting the whole set? You can still play with the normal versions. They introduced the achievements in Nov 2020 so anything collection related has been recorded since then, but you’re blaming them for not keeping track of cards you disenchanted like 5 years before that???
New and returning players are able to grab a free deck from a choice of 6 after trying them out for a few days. Not sure where you are getting the information that everyone was given meta legendaries and such, they had to open it from packs or craft it, or get it from the free deck.
You should have recieved a free ladder ready deck as a returning player. Check on the top decks and choose carefully. I am glad there is such thing now for returning players.. when I returned 4 years ago I didn’t get anything to start. I had to dust all my old cards and started to build my own decks. Didn’t even know what meta means at that time, lol.
If you want to play for free than don’t try to play all the classes.. just choose 1-2 and play those so you can dust the rest or better to wait for nerfs and dust them then when they worth full value.
