I am highly confused. When I play arena and pick cards, the choices seem very random. Mind you, I play MTG and several other real world CCGs.
My issue comes during play. Most of the time things go fine. Lots of back an forth, the cards seem to fall into place across both sides and the matches work out fairly. However, the past couple days I’ve noticed a few things that seem very odd to me.

Some players seem to be able to choose a card without choosing one from their hand (no animation for the cards) (I thought this could be a net issue but it turned out it isn’t on my end at all)

I noticed in my last arena match that the player had an infinite amount of time to play his turn. It just didn’t end. My turn would hit the fuse countdown but his would not.

The last thing I noticed happened yesterday. Start of the turn you the second player gets a COIN. Cool. This guy had infinite coins. He used one every single turn from 1mana - 9mana and stopped using it at that point.
If someone could maybe help me understand these situations a bit better, I would feel more comfortable playing arena again. Currently I am not sure its worth wasting the time or the money/gold.
I read all the posts at the bug report forum (https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/hearthstone/c/bug-report). Occasionally someone will claim to be the victim of a hack/cheat. So far, none of these reports have been confirmed.
I’m not saying it’s impossible. But it is very unlikely. Since the game is played on the Blizzard server, hacking the program on your computer won’t help. You need to penetrate Blizzard’s server and circumvene their security. That requires a lot of dedicated effort from smart people - and those who are smart and evil enough to do this kind of thing AND willing to spend the time are far more likely to select a target that is more interesting than a children’s card game.
Can you perhaps make a screenshot or a short video recording when this happens? I don’t really understand your description so perhaps if I see it I understand what you mean, and then hopefully explain what happens.

Making screenshots or video recordings when something weird happens is a good idea. That allows you to give more information, either to understand the cause if it’s not an actual bug, or to help Blizzard find the root cause if it is.
Better still may be to play with a deck tracker that records your games and posts them online so you can just share the link to your game. https://hsreplay.net/downloads/
