Loaded hearthstone and it says, a new update is avaliable close app and update. Open Google play and no update exists. Update Google play, check for all updates, no HS update still. Check old forums so I Un-installed then re-installed and same issue. No update on Google play, no way around it.
Cleared data, cleared cache, force closed, Un-installed, reinstalled, no updates exist cannot play.
Same issue for meā¦ i also reinstalled, no update to play store.
did you check your phone ? i mean i saw the same opened the store but only choices were uninstall or play
then i notice some unread notifications from other apps and when put my finger on top of the screen and drag it down i notice Hearthstone is downloading

I play both on my pc and iPhone13 and experienced the same problem only on my iPhone. After a couple tries being forced into the App Store it must have been updating in the background because it works fine now.
Just tried this and confirmed this trick works to get it running on Android. Just leave the game sitting on the "Game has updated, go to play store " screen for a few minutes and when I closed and relaunched the game, I was in.
the game update starts downloading automatically after opening the store but the phone doesnt show anything unless you check your notifications by putting your finger on the top of the screen and drag it down
Same issue here on ipad. Closed app. Restarted ipad. Deleted and reinstalled hearthstone. Nothing fixes the issue.

are you sure it didnt start updating in the background as soon as the store oppened from HS app? thats how it happened to me i didnt see the download or the update on the store or HS but it was still downloading and i was only able to notice it when checked my phone notificiations
i hadnt noticed i wouldve tried re installing the game interrupting the update without knowing
