Any official word on the rigged bg rolls?

over on reddit someone posted battlegrounds video where they hit refresh 8 times and got offered the same minions 8 times in a row

someone else did the math and the chances are
1 in 3,656,693,754,346,023,093,348,756,420,956,932,092,231,680,000,000 or
0.000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,002,73,471%

not rigged ? just really really reallllllly bad rng right ?

I mean if this system was just really an random number generator on hitting roll and nothing more, this would never happen!

Not rigged. Also not random. Hanlon’s razor. Bug.

Hanlon’s razor in this context is basically “never call it malice if it can be explained by stupidity”

how does stupidity explain it ? bad code ? so the bad code has to be doing “something” it shouldn’t be doing for it to malfunction in such a spectacular fashion ?

The same single copy of a minion is what i am assuming? If so what tier was it?

Also this is false. EVERY possible outcome eventually happens under a random system.

I think a bug is multiple times more likely than a properly generated random outcome, but the “simple randomness” explanation cannot be ruled out completely.

Can’t find it. Post link pls

The intracacies of a random number generator aren’t complex enough to produce this type of bug. With a rigging algorithm? Very possible

If this were the case, casinos would go bankrupt since just one instance of this would be catastrophic.

Also, you could plant factual evidence before Scr0tie and he’d say it was fabricated or something. Pretty sure he’s employed or insane.

I’m waitinng for your factual evidence, still.

Where’s the fabled chart of BG plays?

We will never know because none of you ever produce anything other than anecdotes and feelings.

A bug can absolutely produce this type of result. It’s as simple as instead of generating a new random seed it just repeats the same seed. Casinos don’t put all their egg into a single digital basket. They have other games that make them money that aren’t prone to this type of failure. How would any of the non digital games fail this way? Casinos also don’t have to update machines like Hearthstone BGs. They can use the same machines for years and thoroughly test them before putting them on the casino floor. Casinos going broke if this bug can happen doesn’t track because no machines bugged this way would stay active for long enough to bankrupt them.

What chart? The number of minions per tier?

Dude been trying to pull a Horatio, but untill now it’s been just hot air.
It’s comprehensible, he’s parsing 12000 or so screenshots by hand and then a just as big excel sheet.

It’s been far more than a month, and still nothing

Talk about the RNG gods hating you. I just went into a final round of a lobby and i was listed at 99.9% chance to win. I had a golden Taunted reborn trickster with a golden Baron and the rest demons boosted with a golden Tichondrius. I watched the trickster die and trigger all those health buffs. No F’ing lie they ALL went on the Baron. Talk about the RNG gods giving you the hateful smack down. I just sat there laughing at that.

The tracker odds seem to be not very accurate right now. I am not sure what is causing this but they are far from reliable.

Well yeah the Bassgill and Rylak cause issues because of their unknown effects. Not sure they can ever really properly predict those. However, the odds of all those buffs going to a single minion is hilarious.

It was more just to point out that sometimes RNG just doesn’t like yah.

Battlegrounds rng in general has some weird properties that differ from rng in the rest of hearthstone. You can outright get a desynced game state from your opponent due to your seed being different from theirs (which is weird because everywhere else rng is handled server-side) resulting in you seeing a different outcome than them (e.g. you killed them but they’re in the lobby anyway). This has been “fixed” 2 or 3 times and it’s still around.

So what’s the big deal? A couple minions came up multiple times after each refresh. I have seen that more than once.

every time it happens the chances of it happening again again skyrocket, a couple of times might be like 1% but 8 times ? like posted above is 0.000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,002,73,471%

I’m really not sure after reading that post how they can make that kind of assertion without ALL of the information. They have no idea how many of each of those minions are left in the pool. How many have been tripled? There are several variables they are guessing on. Sure it’s weird but hard to say exactly why.
