Coolness, Im stoked to finally have a reason to play non BGs hearthstone. lol.
SO far Ive encountered:
Uncontrollable Growth 3 times
Driven to Greed 2 times
Opportunity Knocks 4 times
Shifting Fate 2 times
Light in the Dark 1 time
Your Eyes Betray You 8 times
the abundance of “Your Eyes Betray You” makes me feel like the devs wanted to make anomalies mostly not occur in reality… for all the whiners that hate them. Like its to the point where I just concede if I get that one anymore because I wanted to play with anomalies not normal hearthstone lol.
Edit: also Im already climbed up into Silver 9 already lol. Finally the climb isnt such a slogfest. Also the Whizbang decks are pretty fun too. Not so much with the lock deck it provides tho…
Geesh, still in Silver? Guess this event is for you.
I’m pretty sure they were just mimicking Snap with anomalies (real creative). I’ll go play that if I want to not know what my deck is going into a game. Even worse, it highly favors certain decks. Real competitive. Guess I need to build a whole new deck for a week if I want to be most efficient.
It’s not that, they always do something weird to the game right before the expansion, in the middle of the MT qualifications
Last month and this month are MT qualification seasons, and they like to spice it up a bit to break the routine from pros trying to qualify and test their adaptability
Last time it was Renathal and Casino Mage, now it’s anomalies and genn and bhaku
My sarcastic remark was not about in game event, but about lower activity on forums and maybe ingame.
I waste time here only because my kids got ill very first day of summer holidays and our plans went straight through the window. Otherwise, ya bet I would be somewhere completly else then in front of PC screen…
Do you like the new Standard “Anomaly” system as a whole?
469 Yes, Blizzard did this perfectly
685 Yes, but they should only come from Cho’gal
271No, Blizzard should remove them from appearing randomly
337 No, I don’t like them at all
main complain was the 25% chance one being on for too long so they made it a weeklong event instead
the people who post multiple threads to complaina bout something arent the majority of the players most of us leanred that when the devs said the rng tavern brawls were the most played
My only complaint is that the anomalies heavily favor Druid every single time. No matter which one it is, Druid uses it for maximum value while other classes might only get benefits out of a few.
And that especially sucks now since Druid is already dominating.
Gear shift is great with druid, mainly because of combo with Dorian, but also if you flop the mulligan
The first spell discount is so-so, not much helpful in my Druid deck, because I don’t have a lot of spells and some of them cost 0 anyway, so I’d say this one is better for other classes on average
The first minion discount is OK if you hit a good ramping mulligan, but it screws up your Nestmatron play, as if you play it on turn 3 you only get 3 mana back
Since the deck is mainly tempo, the “end your turn with extra mana and get a card/coin” ones are bad - you generally don’t wanna float mana early game, but oh well, sometimes a card draw is worth more than tempo
And, of course, golden cards one doesn’t do anything for anyone xd
First spell is perfect for early wild growth discover to ramp early and fast.
Almost all the anomalies allow Druid to ramp faster since their ramp is tied to both spells and minions.
The card draws allow more consistent ramp with dragon synergies and needing dragons in hand.
The golden one is just the only one that’s obviously fair. But all other ones fit perfectly for ramp druid.
Most other decks and classes won’t benefit from every single one or gives the opponent more benefit, but this isn’t the case for Ramp Druid.
We should expect to see Ramp Druid at the top of the meta until expansion.
Floating mana is like saving ramp so it doesn’t matter if it saves it or not. Save it for 4 and you play Doomkin a turn earlier.
Everything benefits Ramp Druid 100%
If you’re playing against ramp druid and you’re floating mana, you’re losing. You can barely afford to play your cards normally as is already. Float mana and you’re doing the work for Druid.
Personally I’m embracing it even if it screws me (more than 50% of the time)
I’ll be running Cho’Gall and Yogg location with it, ln YoG we Trust!
When Grand Magus Rommath was in rotation he would play all the extra coins that can be generated (anomaly and excavates) and could make an epic play in Standard where he casts all your earlier crap and you still end up with 11 mana!
