Animation Delay Needs to Pause Timer

This game can be immensely frustrating when you can’t complete a turn because over half the turn timer is spent waiting for animations to play out… too many games have my turns and entire game been ruined because the turn couldn’t be completed as it takes so long for numerous animations/card effects to play out… Every second spent loading or executing a card animation effect should either pause the turn timer or add to it… it’s SO DUMB.

The time it takes to play animations is dependent upon the particular situations of the client. For example, what other programs are running, processor speed, GPU speed, available RAM, etc.

In order for the turn timer to dynamically increase on the basis of animations, the Hearthstone servers would have to receive data from the clients regarding the progress of animations, believe that data, and make actual adjustments to the game state on the basis of that information. This is equivalent to the Hearthstone servers putting on a clown wig and makeup, and wearing a large sign that says “HACK ME.” It will never and should never happen.

Get a better device.

And if it goes to BGs they need a serious graphics programmer to look into the effects load. The mode is practically unplayable on ~$200 tablets (hangs that last seconds). On my expensive phone it’s choppy every few seconds.
