Just got my first Android phone, a Pixel 3a XL. I’m quite shocked at how badly this game runs but it looks as though the resolution / graphic fidelity is way too high.
Surely there should be an option to set to low / med / high graphic quality?
Sadly the performance on android has always been like this. It’s playable, but not smooth or fast by any means. The worst part is the collection, there’s just no way any sane person would have the patience to build a deck on mobile with it.
Nothing has changed for me since I first tried the game on my Nexus 7 (2nd gen), and not really any better on Nvidia Shield (2nd gen as well) where I expected it to run butter smooth, but no. Then on my newest tablet, Galaxy S5e, it doesn’t feel much better either. It still runs like crap. Maybe it’s slightly faster, but it’s hard to measure by feel, transitions trough menus and collection browsing are still slow, and any bigger animations still completely tank the fps.
And I’ve heared comments from other users “oh but it runs just fine on my Shield”. Yeah no, it doesn’t. It’s far from optimal, it was always like this and we’ll just have to accept it. The fact that it didn’t get any better over several generations of hardware, I don’t hold any hopes.
