After 7 years, I’m about to delete this unfun game

Why did anyone think cards like denathrius and theotar would be fun? I have lost sooo many games I was WINNING handily to a Denathrius battlecry. And theotar is just dumb. People just use it to try to steal Denathrius or a hero card. I used to love this game. You had to outplay your opponent to win the majority of the time. Now the better player frequently loses to one or two gimmick cards that require no skill to play. I know this argument is not a new one but it makes me feel better to vent. If you don’t fix it soon, I’m out.

Came here to say the same thing. Uninstalling so I won’t be tempted to play just one more.

Completely agreed… the latest expansion finally broke me. I can no longer have ANY enjoyment from playing this game, so it seems like a good time to quit.

What kills me is having to buy buy buy to not be destroyed every game

I just started playing again after 2+ years only to find that things are worse now than they were the last time I played. I am not a great player by any means, but I did well enough back then. Now it is impossible to win unless you spend money to buy cards, which I am unable/unwilling to do. I too will be quitting and uninstalling this mess of a game.

why do people still think they are winning just because their HP is higher

Same, i’ve been playing not a lot for the last few expansions, but the latest one convinced me there’s noone left at blizzard who knows how to design a card, uninstalled too, this is not going to get better.

It amuses me when I play such one dimensional thinkers. “Oh, I’m definitely going to win, I have 40 hp and everytime my opponent play those small minions I clear them and they only have 4 hp left…[emote emote emote].” Opponent plays Sire Denathrius and life steal them for 35 hp. “[Rage quit…run to forum] This game sucks, because I lost to Sire Denathrius when I was about to win!!!”

loosing on turn 5 to mine rogue is worse

as for theo denatrius…dont keep denatrius in opening hand doofus…and have 1-2 more win con than just 1…rat and mutanus can also wreck dena…except for guff…hero card are optionnal…guff enable stuff like likecracker combo…without him alternate way to do this would be avianna or celestial alignment…technicly you could think of celestial alignment as a backup guff that is played a lil later on

think out of the box for once…theo is not as harmful vs a good deck…but when you see things like quest mage or mine rogues which has literaly 0 counter…its disgusting…even spectral pillager rogue is almost unstoppable(although you gotta take out scabb otherwise they pull the combo on 5-6…without scabb they need to hold untill 10 mana about and that buy you time to get some armor)

quit hating on a card with a small impact and that is good for the game health…especially fair when he steal a tickatus or immolate to destroy 2-5 cards from opponent hand and force them to waste card they wanted to save for more critical moment…or even burn 2-5 of their key cards trough tickatus…he make a fine return to the sender bs

Look, I’ve also won plenty by slamming Denathrius. It doesn’t change the fact that it’s a stupid card that has lowered the skill level required to play at high levels in the game. It’s not fun to lose to Denathrius, nor is it particularly satisfying to win with Denathrius. This game used to be a complex strategy game but it has been reduced to something in which people of very little brain can succeed at high levels by buying an “I win” card or two.

so…
your opponent are dumb because you say so

playing denathrus isnt fun because you say so

ive been reading post like those since pre combo druid nerf…im talking about force of nature savage roar one they all had the words "i was wining "

Personally, I think both Theotar and Denathrius are poorly designed cards, which are very representative of what’s wrong with Hearthstone these days. I quickly spoke negatively about both cards within days of their release.

Apparently, the devs must agree that Theotar is problematic, since we are expecting an announcement about Theo getting nerfed later today.

Denathrius is a mostly skill-less card that tends to be way too impactful, often translating into an “I Win” card when it gets played.

Denathrius’s appearance generally negates many turns of skillful decision making among various difficult choices between multiple lines of play.

I expect Denathrius to eventually get nerfed as well, but hey, I once expected Dr. Boom to get nerfed and it never happened.

Interesting head-canon you have going on there.
