It is simply not enough to be able to squelch your opponent. I do not want to see them shuffling the cards in their hand over and over. I do not want to see them highlighting their character portrait for long periods of time. I do not want to see them highlighting their Hero power, nor their minions. And I definitely don’t want to see the thing that trolls love to do best where they will hover over your character portrait for long periods of time.
Basically I don’t want to hear or see anything my opponent does other than play their cards and I don’t think that’s too much to ask for. And before we all start, it’s not a matter of being soft or this and blah it’s just annoying and trolls get off on it. Why should I feed them?
You must be one of those trolls who like to try and harass your opponent. It’s obvious or else you wouldn’t have typed this out. Btw, I hit legend every month I “handle “ the game just fine, but I shouldn’t have to put up with the nonsense of other people.
My High School English teacher once told me “Fair is a 4-letter F word buddy, and I never want to hear it from your mouth again.”
I don’t think Five was being literal. (or maybe he was, I’m not a psychic)
My interpretation was that you’re maldy about social interactions. Which is fine, I don’t like people either. Just, you know, alt tab or something. Turns are at most one minute and 15 seconds long. Keep the sound on in background and only come back when you hear it’s your turn.
SHOULD you have to “workaround” like this? no.
DO you have to? Also no. (you could just continue to be mad - how’s that working out so far?)
It’s amazing to me how when people have no argument they try to claim someone is “mad” or “upset” basically implying that a response and/or suggestion came from an emotional response rather than a response based on experience and/or logical thinking.
You want to paint a narrative of saying “oh you only want this feature because you can’t handle social interactions” which makes absolutely no sense considering how I can handle social interactions just fine. (The back and forth on this forum being just one example of my ability to “socially” interact, so your claim is already weakened.”)
What I said and will reiterate yet again, is that there SHOULD be a mute all button. It should be an option the same way how in real life if you are experiencing an awkward and/or unwanted social interaction you can simply disengage. Instead what we have on this game are trolls who love to continually try and force unwanted and annoying behavior upon others without the ability to cull said behavior.
Furthermore the mute all button wouldn’t even take away from an individual’s ability to continue their trolling behavior, but their opponent would not be forced to abide by it (disengaging as one would weird behavior in real life)
Finally, I will say this, the only people who ever get “mad” when someone suggests quashing this sort of mindless behavior are the ones who are proponents of it to begin with.
I’m literally suggesting you constructively disengage, which is literally how you claim to handle social interactions when they aren’t limited to a keyboard and computer screen:
I also furthermore acknowledged your ire is justified:
And I also entirely predicted you wouldn’t react constructively:
Now maybe, I could have phrased my post with less sarcastic bite. Or maybe I could have not posted at all. Or maybe anything, really. I don’t deal with what was or could be. I deal with what IS.
What IS the reality, is you’re mad, plain and simple. And it’s affecting how you act and behave. You can run from the problem or you can face it, your choice.
i can kinda vibe with this part to where i think all them long friggin animations that cut into turn time need to just be removed (mostly the chain deathrattle/battlecry builds). For the most part it’s not a problem, but once in a while you run into that player that netdecked a long n slow massive long animation run time deck n it’s like okay bruh i got things to do today, let’s hurry this along pls lol
I would probably use a super squelch also, but I wonder if some of those things are subtle useful information for gameplay; e.g. it may show they are nervous; not that it’s necessarily useful but intuition works in mysterious ways.
By the way I suspect you misunderstand what they’re doing in some cases; e.g. you’re sure if they hover they try to troll; it could be accidental some times or even them trying to squelch you.
They’ve been asked (repeatedly, for years) for an option setting to turn off emotes entirely. They refused.
Every time they’ve been asked they dodge the question. Or give bizarre answers like “it might cause some problems”.
I shouldn’t have to mute EVERY SINGLE OPPONENT individually. There’s not a single reason I shouldn’t be allowed to just turn this off in the options menu.
Like, obviously SOME things are just plain inexcusable. Racism, bigotry, that moron with the goofy mustache who caused the Holocaust. Etc.
/Spit emote ain’t it. It doesn’t make that list. Not by a LONG shot.
The other side of the “some things just aren’t justifiable” coin is that SOME people just aren’t being offended in good faith. As weird as it sounds to write that. There needs to be a middle ground between “Karen” and “The Three K’s.”
