Is there a way to know when you get disconnected?
Sometimes i think the other person is just taking the time of their turn when in reality i got disconnected. I’ve lost many times because of this.

No, because normally the game should detect it itself and immediately show you the disconnection pop up. Alternatively the coders of the game are bad and they don’t even detect something detectable by the operating system but I doubt they are at that level.
Most disconnections don’t appear to be networking-level disconnections because killing the game and reconnecting seems to work, so they seem closer to server bugs.

I’ve resorted to just counting down when I’ve noticed it’s been a while. I really should just get a stopwatch tbh.

Battleground these days always dc, sometime can reconnect sometime not but remake, and that’s meaningless to reconnect if timeless to buy and put minion, why not just let it remake.

The type of “disconnect” most people experience isn’t an actual connection lost problem, but more like a desync. Your game client is expecting some response/sequence of data and instead of timing out and attempting to recover, sits there endlessly.
This happened repeatedly and consistently during the Nellie pirate card original release years ago. If the playing player snap picked all the choices, the opponent would get stuck in some part of the choosing steps. You could be connected to the game server without disconnection, but the turn would never end.
Instead of building netsafe code, blizzard did the 5 minute hack and just added a timer delay before each set of discover choices appeared. Terrible programming.
There really is no sure way to know, but if your opponent has typically been snappy making plays and you get this “dead” period after they take some actions, you are probably desync’ed and stuck unless you reload the game client to force a state reset on your side.
