I just started and spend all my dust tried to craft reno mage, and now they re giving it for free. I do not know how this is FAIR ?
So what actually the point of playing and trying hard everyday ?
I know that blizzard want to pull some old players back, so WHY NOT GIVE A FREE DECK TO EVERYONE ?

If you really do t have much dust, you might as well start over. You’ll get Reno mage for free, as well as the ability to keep your dust.

I seriously need to rethink about spending money on this game. You spend, get nothing. You do not spend ANYTHING, either TIME or $$$, get a free new shiny deck. I do not know man, something is just not right.

The reno mage free version has a lot of legendaries, but i bet your collection is better than that
Not really true. You spend money, you get more cards to play with.
It’s called a catch-up mechanic.
If you were a regular player during the past four months, you got free packs and bonus gold from events since December. The problem is that because you got them piecemeal instead of all at once in one shiny package, you feel cheated.
If you don’t think the rewards you get from playing regularly are worth it, that’s fine. But I think you’re being overly pessimistic because the big shiny new deck is flashy, even though it might not be worth as much as it seems.

Yeah it’s kind of a slap in the face for their loyal playerbase. Instead they try to lure new/old players to the game who won’t play nearly as much or will quit the game in 3 weeks anyways.

Because then the difference in resources between the people who are new/returning and the people who have been playing throughout Descent of Dragons remains the same. Which further keeps new/returning players trying to catch up to feel competitive.
In short: because it’s a catch-up mechanic.

No. It is seem that you do not even understand what the difference between players resources is, so I refuse to hear your point from now. There is not many difference between a player who have 11 decks and a player having 10 decks, but there is a HUGE difference between players having only 0,1,2… decks. So giving 1 decks to EVERYONE is still a huge boost to new & returning players, as their gain are much more in term of playability.
Imagine like this, If blizzard give 10/100 decks to all players, do you still think that the resources gap between players remain the same ?

Though I do understand it is to encourage/equalize play for everyone who did not have a chance to collect cards from the past year, I think that Blizz should at least give everyone else something to compensate, maybe a Legendary or two?

One solution that’s been put up is to allow players who fall outside the criteria to still be able to get a deck, but for a cost. Say 700 gold or something.
Right now, new players who started in February/early March, and also returning players who don’t have many Standard cards: they’re getting shafted the most. But they likely will have earned some gold/have some left over, and really need a sort of deck like this as well. I went on Reddit, there’s a bunch that logged in to try out BGs, some would consider returning but when they found out there was no way for them to get a deck, they just didn’t want to come back.
So you get rewarded for being inactive, but punished for playing, casually within the last 4 months. How can that be a good feeling?

I have played this game nearly every day for more than 4 years and I do not have Reno either. Nice that Blizzard is making it clear they care nothing about there loyal customers. They only want to bring in new customers who will soon get bored and stop playing. The important thing is the new customers will be around just long enough to help the stock price.

They’ll lose their loyal players soon. Especially if they keep seeing this happen.
But hey at least we’ll get a free deck when (or better yet “if”) we return.
It takes me so much time to earn a good deck. I’m disappointed in Blizzard.
