A couple new Demon Hunter cards that I hadn't seen mentioned yet

Dormant minions cannot be cleared. When one comes online it would likely just kill Venomizer, especially since it can attack the turn it wakes up.

Highlander Mage won’t be popping out uber boards against this when LPG rotates in a couple weeks.

If only Dormant minions were simply excluded from random generation and summoning effects, for the sake of consistency, simplicity, and good design. :yum:

In fact, on top of that, I will always continue to contend that any source of card or board generation should not be able to grant cards that one’s current class would ordinarily not be able to play, Priest thievery and Rogue burglary notwithstanding. Generating cards from other classes leaves very little room for the opponent to play around, and it often results in the least fun situations in the game.

I’m saying that was a much more devastating mutli turn clear. Also I wonder if Reno will clear it or not.

I did not realize it could attack the turn it wakes up. That makes this significantly better, since a 10/6 charge is nothing to laugh at, even if you know it is coming.

I imagine that Reno is probably the only thing that can remove Dormant minions.

Maybe Plague of Death? I don’t think so though.

I don’t believe it likely that The Amazing Reno can remove Dormant minions. I haven’t been able to play around with him myself, but has anyone tested it with The Darkness whilst it is Dormant? I would imagine that Dormant minions cannot be interacted with in any way, meaning even Reno’s unique Battlecry wouldn’t work – and since Nether Portal is functionally identical to one as a permanent, it probably would not be removable, which supports this hypothesis.

Pretty sure they cant attack once they wake up, they don’t have rush or charge, so suffer summoning sickness like all other summoned minions.

Nvm on what I just said.

Saw the video of the Mage dormant minion and it had summoning sickness on the turn it awoke.

Well, that’s at least a small relief.

The Antaean is an exceptionally strong card. Keep in mind that this hits face, too, so if you don’t play minions to defend against the Awaken trigger it’s threatening a Pyroblast.

Yeah.

Imp ant is a 5 mana give your opponent an extra turn. Its unplayable. 0/5

My point precisely.

Delaying the ability to attack by a turn is good, but your attempt to set up an answer might very well get taken out. Play two of these and two Soul Splits to copy them and it gets nuts real quick.

LPG is a 7 mana give your opponent an extra turn. Its unplayable. 0/5.

See how that works?

Dormant cant be targetted. Its useless. You will see.

Right, but it can be targetted the turn it wakes up. You act like Demon Hunter has no tools or tempo to manage the board.

I dont see an aggro or tempo deck using a card that takes 3 turns to do anything and a 4 mana copy a 10/6 isnt that great. Its probably going to be super op then you can make fun of me but right now i say its meh

No they can’t attack when they wake up. This video proves it.

Too bad it won’t see play because it will force an aggro where only decks that win before turn 7 will be allowed.

Yeah, we covered that last night.

Honestly I’m happy to see that.

I like the Dormant mechanic in general.

It’s fun to try to plan around powerful stuff you know is coming.

I’m also prepared to listen to Demon Hunter’s spam threaten “You Are Not Prepared” for 2 turns straight.

Skull of Gul’dan can reduce the cost.
Pit Commander can cheat it out of the deck.

It certainly appeals much more to me than just straight slice 'n dice Aggro for the class. Being able to run big packages like that while supplementing the early game with their fantastic tempo will be nice.

It’s so slow, what turn in HS now u can afford to 5 mana do nothing?

Lots of people, playing Luna’s Pocket Galaxy back when it was buffed.

Turn five isn’t that game-ending to do a setup play on. Sure, if you’re facing down the barrel of an aggro deck, maybe you play that board clear instead, but to think this card is unplayable is silly.
