In the past rogue has frequently used spell synergies with the coin over its lifetime without being particularly broken.
Right now it wouldn’t do much in standard to rogue, but it would cut off interesting interactions.

What Smeet said. As a general point, miracle/combo turns want lots of instant effects. The two main ways for instant effects in the game are battlecries and spells.
Rogue doesn’t get battlecry synergies very often, but spell synergies? Yes.
I’m having a brain fart here as I don’t remember any recent example, but a super old example would be auctioneer. It draws on spells
I’ve only played 2 games myself. Both BSM. One win, one loss. I was just trying to be funny
Currently you can also use them to fill up a Tidepool Pupil if you already know what you want to discover off of it.
Thanks for confirming, I wonder if this will reflect in aggregate stats. I dusted Reno long ago due to my hatred for the card, I really don’t want to craft it again to experiment.
Reno druid has got to be one of the scammiest of the scammy decks out there.
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had opponents basically beat down with no cards in hand, just outright winning due to accumulation of smart decisions, to have them drop Marin and wand as a hail Mary, into sbts, Reno and enoar to clear my board, draw an entire hand and reset to 9 mana. Literally a complete reversal of the game, to the point I’ve never seen swing turns swing so hard.
Yes, sir. If you get Rhea out it’s nearly a guaranteed win.
She’s the 5th highest Played Win Rate card in the game, and she’s not even a finisher.
Playing her is like Handbuff Paladin playing Leeroy or Highlander Warrior playing Inventor Boom. It’s almost like Mage playing Sif.
Ramp, play her, win.
And it also has the ability to recover insanely quickly.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a Reno Druid to like 4 health and then lose the game. They just have so many outs.
Aviana also scams out a lot of wins because she hits legendary minions that are just I Win cards.
And the fact you can get Rhea out on turn 4 sometimes is ridiculous.
The problem is there isnt symmetrical mana cheat engines for every class in the game… You have druid (and warrior I guess) and now mage that can effectively cheat out 20 mana worth of stuff when the opponent has 5 mana to deal with it and that just creates warped games…
It was like when you could cheat out sargeras on turn 5 (or was it 6) back in the day and all of a sudden warlock was everywhere.
Either give everyone the opportunity to play 20 mana worth of stuff on turn 5, or give no one the opportunity… THeres no balance left when only a few classes can generate a massive mana cheat engine.
A good first step to reducing the nonsense would be to delete marin… Marin wasnt a bad idea if he was truly always played on turn 7… but as we see with druid (and whoever is left playing warrior) that stuff comes out on turn 5 and then you’re stuck as the opponent trying to deal with whatever nonsense they cheat out on a limited mana pool.
They continually have examples of needing to be careful with mana manipulation in the game and they continually ignore it to where you have a couple of classes playing a different game to everyone else because they can draw their entire deck and play it for 0 mana.
Yup. This is part of the “scam” people are talking about. It’s mana cheat heaven right now.
Yeah, even giving it to everyone isn’t great because you won’t always have it, so the games just turn into who does it first, which you have little to no control of.
Just play Rainbow Shaman into it. I’m 6-1 against Tsunami Mage so far - granted I had 2 games with ridiculous luck.
If we are talking about scrotie here, well he’s just a difficult personality lol. I’m old enough that I’ve dealt with plenty of people like him, especially in my profession, so I’m pretty good at not letting them get to me.
YMMV tho, don’t engage too much
this big spell mage is unbalanced! Alot of my high ranking friends lost a ton of ranks today and i played 5 games and lost every single one to big spell mage and it seems the game is unplayable, time to achievement hunt while waiting for hotfix patch? This is such a terrible state for the game its literally so unbalanced
hotfix patch ? whats that ? was it announced ?ridiculoushat didnt say anything on his posts
There’s usually an emergency patch window a few days out from the mini set if there’s a huge problem. Otherwise, 2 weeks until the next balance change patch is the usual cadence.
I’m not sure BSM rises to huge problem levels. Some things are doing ok against it, and the popularity was driven mostly be it being the only exciting thing in the mini set.
I somewhat expect it to eat a nerf though, but probably not an earth shattering one.
Skyla to 6 mana and that’s it. Mulligan win rate is the best in the game. Slight mana nerf adjusts it enough.
Doesn’t effect the deck too much, and delays 1 extra turn.
I’m like 99% sure that’s the nerf and likely the only one.
Altair, describe yourself in one sentence. Go!
Wow! That’s shockingly concise! Great job!!!
Balance is about more than numbers, and this meta is the proof.
You can almost immediately tell the outcome of a game and your choices really don’t matter in this meta. That may be numerically balanced but nothing about it is fun… at least for me it isn’t. Maybe others enjoy flipping coins.
I once heard an anecdote that Townes Van Zandt, a degenerate gambler, liked to flip quarters for $20 bills, so maybe he would have liked this meta, idk.
And you failed. Miserably.
Nah, I’m kidding. You’re good. I chuckled when I read your post, so mission accomplished.
People don’t put paladin in this camp, but when you look at how additive their handbuffs are, you’re really cheating mana to drop 1 cost 6/6+ DS lifesteal with rush and more.
It’s all over the meta in different forms, but nothing is costed appropriately if it’s played because paying full price is a losing strategy.
Or just put them on permanent ignore and don’t care. It’s much more effective.
Are you serious? Do you really wanna go on ignore?
Your takes have been really crappy lately, and as I understood, you don’t even play anymore.
Why should anyone read your takes, especially me?
Especially you, your highness?
Lol, dude, you need help.
If people really want a not so dumb change.
Undo the changes to tsunami. The only thing it done was potentialize any other mana cheat while the card in a vacuum got worse.
Basically incentivized mana cheating.
Lemme just bust some myths real quick:
