Hearthstone is now a game with extremely serious and internal problems. I hope you’ll take this seriously and give me some feedback if there’s any hope. I’ve been playing Hearthstone for 15 years and I’d like to offer some suggestions to the game and its designers regarding its longevity and profitability.
**Animation Issues:** The animations in Hearthstone have become extremely long and annoying. Many animations are too slow and waste a lot of players’ time, such as the opening cinematic, Finley flipping through his deck, and so on. These animations are slow and drawn out. I hope the animations can be optimized for a large number of cards, while also taking into account the audio experience for blind players.
**Expansion Pace Issues:** Changing from two expansions a year to three has increased the turnover rate among Hearthstone designers. Card discard rates are very high, and experienced designers are leaving the game frequently. Many of the cards released now are of poor quality, making the game harder and causing a large number of players to drop out. I suggest reverting to two expansions a year and adding two mini-expansions instead.
**Internal Game Issues:** Standard mode is not fun and lacks depth in gameplay. Wild mode has too high numbers, turning the game from a strategic game into one that relies heavily on luck. There are too many OTK (One-Turn Kill) decks, and the lack of interaction is frustrating. Games usually end in 5-6 mana, leaving no room for counterplay. As a game, interactivity and decks that are both fun and powerful are the way forward. Wild mode has now become a complete mess, with very low patch efficiency. Why can designers tolerate an environment where games end in 5-6 mana with either an OTK or a fast attack? Moreover, the design philosophy is increasingly focused on destroying the opponent’s hand, like the new Mage missions in Wild mode. Fast attacks can still be counteracted, but OTK decks of all types are too strong in Wild mode, which is choking out players and paying customers. The current version’s Lightning pastor and Runed Sword Porcupine decks, among others, are destroying the game environment. These self-destructive decks shouldn’t be allowed to continue existing.
Hearthstone has reached the end of its life cycle, with many serious problems that need to be fixed urgently if the game wants to have a future with its players. The game environment must be kept healthy, whether it’s Standard or Wild, so that people are willing to pay. Right now, Hearthstone is becoming less and less fun.
