Does anyone think they will ever raise the 30 card deck limit? Keep it at 30 minimum, but I would love to play a casual game with a huge deck where every game plays out differently . . . . . just my dream
Try MtG and you’ll find out that this dream is a nightmare.
Why? Is there any specific issues that rose in MtG?
Don’t confuse things mtg has cards that involve the mana other than heartstone in which each one mana turn is generated ie totally fair.
Decks are loosing stability. Bigger deck - worse topdeck. You’ll never find needed card in time.
I am a longtime Mtg player. Always sleeving up 250 Singleton decks vs 60 card decks. Now even doing it on Mtg arena, but always wanted to try it in Hearthstone
I thought MtG has tutors and lots of ways to draw?? Wouldnt large decks focus on that?
Larger decks would be terrible. Most good decks would remove cards if they could, so if you wanted to win games, adding more cards wouldn’t be a good strategy.
There’s also the issue of fatigue being meaningless if decks had variable sizes. Fatigue’s sole purpose is to eventually end games. Increasing deck limits would break that aspect of the game.
Double deck size but draw two cards each turn. Solved.
Hand size issues. Can only hold 10 cards.
Plus drawing 2 cards per turn would give Aggro a huge advantage.
200 armor odd fatigue warrior with Illucidia says hai.
Though to be serious yeah 90% of all decks other than mill and fatigue would want to run 30 cards. Maybe bar druid with draw 30 kaelthalas shenangians. You could probably create a infinite gadgetzan auctioneer deck in some miracle rogue if you wanted.
Also Aluneth burn mage with 50 aggro burn cards and crap tons of draw and octosari could have no disadvantage with 50 cards.
Discolock could probably run like 50 cards as well just with how fast it draws with hand of guldan.
As is, most of the infinite draw combos are limited by how fast they fatigue you, but some decks could probably do it if they wanted though. Aluneth, Discolock and fatigue warriors are currently designed around fatigue as a drawback. They could use 40+ cards fine i think.
Not looking to try to win every game, just looking to have fun.
Well you could also increase the hand size to match. How would it give aggro an advantage? It’s an archetype that is limited by mana - the number of cards in hard is often irrelevant.
The problem with that deck would be finding Aluneth. Sure you could play a bunch of draw, but that’s a lot of mana you’re no playing on proactive stuff.
The last thing Aggro decks want is more cards.
Exactly the opposite of what you said is true. How is Aggro limited by mana? Most of their cards are cheap if the deck is built correctly. Their only problem is running out of cards. Doubling their draw capabilities with no drawbacks would make them overpowered in that format.
They could add it in brawl…50 card decks for a week wouldn’t hurt anyone
But if the opponent is also drawing double the cards, they have double the answers. Lots of cheap removal, taunts, silences to counter the small minions in the early game can eventually run them low - if they’re down to 2 cards a turn, and you have a full hand of potentially 20 answers, they’re in a pretty bad position.
What I’d really like to see is an increased health pool for players. With the current minions often able to eat 30HP in 4-5 turns, changing the HP to 60 would give non-aggro decks more time to stabilise and counter the early aggro.
