2hours for 770XP

I have heard that TrumpSC “did the math” and claimed that the system is better?
What a crock. In a vacuum perhaps. But, in real life the system sucks.
He claimed 400 XP per hour and that’s probably right. In a perfect world.
What he failed to factor is that you don’t play a complete two hours at any given time and you are not rewarded for any out-of-play time, so it gets tacked on to the already glacial XP/hour rate. crafting, queue times, etc.
The new system is far slower than he calculates.
And the thing is? It feels terrible to play.
Team 5 has sucked every bit of the feeling of progression out of this game and replaced it with absolutely nothing.
And let’s not forget: In addition to the snail’s pace of grinding there will be a mini expansion coming to suck away even more gold from the smaller amount that you will have.
Sorry, Jeffrey. On paper you may be right, but that is the only place.

Yeah, but at least Mages can look forward to that mini expansion for the Beast support they’ve been needing for so long.

Really though, if there’s no impressive Secret or Ele support in it, I’mma be a sad drum.

I know how you feel. Mage is the new Shaman. The class sucks. I think someone at Team 5 hates mage.

You probably would’ve hit 400xp/hour with one more win unless your queue times were ridiculously long.

I agreed he is probably right about the rate.
It’s still too slow and feels terrible.

Yep, in Hearthstone there’s nothing more discouraging than finishing a game and seeing you only got like 40 XP out of the 3000+ XP you need for a single level.

It’s probably a typo, but I agree: mage needs beast support

Make silverback patriarch a class card!

lmao

Secret and for that matter, traditional Tempo have been completely dead ever since the Mana Wyrm nerf and the new dev team moved in. I don’t know if it was a vendetta or folks just trying to creatively breathe some new flavors into the class, but I’m sick of living or dying by RNG/generation. The other half of printed Mage cards would like to see some viability, please.

Well I still refuse to ever spend another dime on the game unless they make it better end of story. Have a nice day fellow hearthstone players except for you blizzard you can suck it.

DW, mage will get some mech pay off cards next expac.

You should probably look at the actual vod before name-calling.

Anyways, he did the math, and after they apply/applied the fixes by exchanging a few of the later packs for 300 gold, it ended up being slightly more rewards AFTER the patch. (in terms of raw gold and depending on how much you actually value old packs, IIRC he did the math based on valuing older packs at 60g?)

Not including the other rewards like cosmetic/legendaries, which I don’t believe he put a gold value on.

The new system has slightly more rewards compared to the old system. They just changed how its disrupted.

  1. Rewards a frontloaded to help casual players get an early boost in an expansion to keep them playing, this means that rewards during the expansion will be slower, but overall you get more for your time if you complete it.
  2. Rewards have been balanced out between modes. Three wins in standard vs. three wins in BG just were not equal in the older system, basically telling players not to play BG if they wanted rewards, exp based on playtime is much more modern for Hearthstone’s current situation.

TLDR: Zeddy is wrong about a lot of things. Don’t echo what he says blindly.

before the battlepass, it took an average 2 days to earn 100 gold, now it takes 4 days

I saw his video. And as I’ve said: He is probably right about the figures, but the reality of earning that amount is far different than the on paper analysis.
And I did not call him a name. I called his evaluation a crock because it does not account for the miserable real life experience. It also does not consider down time queue time or any other real life interruptions.
I’ll thank you not to make baseless accusations in the future.
oh. And, happy Thanksgiving:)

Idk, playing a couple hours a day for two days and not getting any gold is pretty bad, imo.

To each their own. I much prefer to get a meaningful amount of gold in 1 chunk (e.g., 300 after 9k xp) rather than the trickle of 10 gold a pop.
it just feels we’re getting a lot more now than before, even if in reality it is just slightly more.
I really dont get all these talks about “felling miserable”. What’s so good about getting 10 gold? Yay you earned 1/10 of a pack, now do that 9 times more and by the time you’re done you will forget you were doing anything at all. At least when you get it all at once you can feel like you actually got something.

This, I don’t get the complaints that it feels like we are getting less. Like, factually, we are getting more…

This is what I’ve been saying. The math doesn’t lie, which is what bothered me about people making outrageous claims of Blizzard false advertising etc.

Now they conveniently switch the complaint to “well, just because it’s factually more doesn’t mean I feel like it’s more…” Like no, this is what these vocal minorities do all the time, and people need to stop listening to emotional crybabies.

Gimme a break. You are right in believing Blizzard doesn’t care about you though, because it would be a waste of time trying to please 24/7 lifers who are just inherently miserable and complete hypocrites.

Your only get 80 xp each match it seems after just won one.

I posted this four hours ago. I was at 770 XP. I ate my Thx dinner at lunch
(roughly 30 min) and went back and played two plus hours.
In that time guess what I gained?
I went from 770XP to a whopping 919XP and the threshold is 3900
You want to call us “emotional crybabies”?
I would rather be that than a mindless, drooling, sycophant.
