20.0.2 Patch Notes

Last I checked the stats, Lunacy had a 80% or higher played winrate when played on T1/2, dropping to “merely” 60% on T3, going below 50% on T4 and just continuing to be even worse as the game goes on.

The 2 mana nerf kills the card as a competetively viable option and makes it barely worth it for the meme.

Paladin still seems like a big thing. I’m not sure if I want to join 'em or try to tell paladins that they are not welcome in Horde territory.

In BG I think they buffed some late game elementals? Do elementals really need help in the late game, or are they trying to make those particular elementals more playable?

do the nerf also appy to wild?

Paladin will continue to be tier 1.

Warlock (3rd best deck atm) will join Paladin in tier 1 and that means all the Tickatus complaints will continue + new ones about Jaraxxaus.

All spell mage will continue but will become a tier 2 deck now.

I think it makes sense that Reckless Apprentice doesn’t work with Spirit of the Dragonhawk since the wording on Dragonhawk says “target” which kind of implies that its effect only works when you yourself are targeting the hero power.

But all that aside I think the main reason they don’t interact is because it would be kind of confusing and unintuitive to try and calculate how much damage would be done to each minion, which I think Blizzard tries to avoid.

Saying this as a long time Even Mage player

Yes they do, although the only (large) relevant nerf is probably the 2 mana watchpost. And sword duh

Good changes but not enough IMO. Deck of lunacy will still be overpowered because the effect itself (within the current context of there being a highly limited pool of ‘random’ cards) is the real issue, not so much the mana cost.
Lady Liadrin is the linchpin behind what makes Librams unmanageable lategame, but shes’ untouched (or the 2 mana libram should be touched instead, maybe).
Refreshing Spring Water is extremely overpowered, yet also untouched.
The other nerfs are good, though.

They must really like Paladin
or maybe its the most boring hero in the bunch and if they dont power it up then no one would play it.

Now do Tickatus, everyone hates that card.

Not enough for paladin at all. Switching to runeterra permanently. Tired of this. Peace out friends.

Paladin needed a bigger nerf. Pretty lackluster nerfs tbh. Devs seem to have a love affair with Paladin.

it does, but I worry more about its pool of rolls more than its hard cost

So basically lunacy is being killed since paladin will be to aggressive to do something for mage with lunacy to do something…

Looks like elemental mage might be a thing again.

Warlock control is now S tier looks like libram paladin will remain on top as well.

Killed rogue (1 deck but the weapon one might still be a thing regardless) and harmed mage with the lunacy change 3 cost probably would have been better… 4 might be too slow.
We will see more warlocks and paladins now. :man_shrugging:

When Blizz HoF Genn & Baku they also Hof: Gloom Stag, Black Cat, Glitter Moth and Murkspark Eel. Not because they were powerfull but these cards were also directly nerfed.
These cards also had the words ODD and EVEN on them.

Here we ONLY have 3 Watch Post cards: Far, Mor´shan and Crossroads. Which the actual meta only use Far and Mor´shan.

So if someone could please explain why Blizz is not refunding Kargal Battlescar since the card is directly linked to Watch Posts. You nerf Watch posts, you directly nerf Kargal Battlescar.

Is simple:

You dont use Kargal if you dont use Watch posts on your deck.
The same as: you dont use black cat if you dont use Baku on your deck.

4 mana lunacy vs overgrowth, which is stronger?

Thanks for a great patch.
1 bug I don’t see in the list. When typing missing in the collection manager the game doesn’t count your golden or diamond cards, and shows as missing some cards you have the golden or diamond version of.

Refreshing Spring Water should have been nerfed to Draw 2 refresh 1 mana per spell drawn. Sword being a 1/2 is fine, but with such great synergies from secrets it doesn’t matter since they only cost 1 mana to play anyway and you can still cheat out 4 of them with sword. Looking like Paladin and Warlock will probably be tops, we’ll see though. Mage is still powerful even with lunacy nerf, it just slow it down 2 turns.

why is the deathrattle murder bird being buffed

blizzard baron rivendare needs help

So basicly Mage did not get touched at all. 4 mana DoL wont change a damn thing.

What needed to be changed is the insane card draw from the deck. Once again the devs prove us right with their lack of understanding what’s actually the op cards. DoL at 4 mana is ok, but no nerfs to the card draw is retarded. Hey I have no cards, refreshing spring water into refreshing spring water into primordial studies into 0 mana 1/3 spell dmg into cram session into cram session is dumb. It reminds me of an old pokemon tcg wigglytuff deck that had the same premise. Just spam through your deck, fill your board and opponent cant do a thing.
