+200% difficulty for +20% reward

Am I the only one shocked by the fact that the weekly quest for playing ranked games now requires triple the amount of WINS only to give 20% more xp ?

Just checking at my quests now and a lot of them just became insanely tedious to complete.
60 miniaturize or mini cards ?
15 wins in tavern brawl, arena or BG ?

[Progression] Some Daily and Weekly Quests have been adjusted to be harder to complete but will grant more XP.

They grant more xp that you will now miss more often, unless you really dedicate your decks to them :no_mouth:

Sure in theory that’s +1500xp per week
But I feel like I will never be comitting enough on the game to complete even 2 of them now…

So…what are we going to do about it? As a F2P, I have no say and no voice besides not playing. Seriously though…what are you all who spend money and time going to do about it?

Quests have always been a psychologically manipulative and unethical mechanic. If you value your freedom then you should try your best to avoid reading what they even are.

I heard some games managed to make them somewhat more ethical
Actually kind of what they did for BG
You can bank up the quests you didn’t complete and complete them later, reducing the fomo effect

LOL

Ok that’s a reroll from now on

Let’s just say that I am not at all surprised by recent developments. This is what quests were always, inevitably to become.

Next GD step will be to buy actual XP amounts, not just a boost lol.

The most enjoyable game mode has been removed. Now quests look tedious, which is the opposite of fun.

Very sad to see what’s happening to this game.

I am not shocked at all.
Every news related to Blizzard lately has been something negative.

I actually love it. I’m doing the 15 wins in a week anyway, so that’s free XP. Fantastic change.

If your sole concern is yourself, I suppose one could find happiness in it.

you don’t have to be an a** about it.
Of course i can only speak for myself, i cannot presume the opinion of others. Everyone does it, or at least should do it.

The only opinion anyone can control is its own. That doesn’t make anyone egoistic, just a normal person.

I’m honestly shocked it’s not requiring more. After MS took over i knew the weekly/daily quests would change and the shop was 100% going to get flooded with whaling products. They probably wanted tog o mor eon the quests but their metrics told them it would be a bad idea.

Next step is a new item in shop: quest finisher. Use to finish 1 quest of your choice, just $9.99, or buy a bundle of 3 quest finishers for $24.99 (or equivalent number in runestones).

That seems to suggest manipulation is unethical. :joy:

I logged in to this today and was shocked. Thought surely it was a bug.

The change is absolutely buried in the patch notes, second to last bullet point.

I think there will be significantly more outrage next week when more people are affected by the change.

I want to see how this looks next week with three quests and time to reroll them a bit, but I don’t like the change and can only see it as a massive swipe at casual players.

It’s the kind of thing that will move players out of the game, so if that’s their goal it’s a good change.

Ah, but that’s the inconvenient truth isn’t it? A lot of people don’t value their freedom. At least not all freedoms, not all the time.

First, freedom is higher up on the hierarchy of needs. Most people do not have the luxury to care about it.

But then even for those who do have the capacity to care, they might just be too lazy to care. I wager many of us who are here (on the Internet) have sold some of their freedom so that advertisers and data collectors can gather info about them, all in exchange so they can see some cat pictures.

One could argue that just by keeping a bnet account and using it, you’ve already sold out some of your identity to The Man.

Most of us cannot be like Tyler Durden.
