18.0.1 Server Hotfix

This is hilarious !!!
The first class to get a nerf is Mage 1 of the worst this expansion…
We get it Mage can only have the RNG casino nonsence ,anything else needs to be nerfed to the ground so we have nothing left.
Cant wait for gutting of the classic set , lets not stop here you need to go all the way and finish the job…

You just murdered Spell mage. I don’t know why team five hates mages so much, but I do know the hatred is real.
Spell mage was crappy before, now it’s dead.

Well if they nerf Fireball, I would probably just quit the game on the spot. Because of what a change like that symbolises.

Sorcerer’s Apprentice is a potential nerf target that may be more justified, but has far reaching consequences…

So everybody kinda figure mages are the most hit by this.

Priest not getting repeat renews will also be pretty big

The discover a dragon dragons won’t be able to chain themselves. Pallies and hunters aren’t so concerned as the former have always wished they had better turn 3 (and now they do) and the latter cares more about maintaining tempo/pressure than chaining value in most matches. Druids would be affected somewhat if they went back to big/dragon decks, but for now they aren’t.

Speaking of druids, nature studies will be hit by this. A minor nerf to spell druids, but it is something.

Some other minor cards that are hit to consider:

Warlock twisted knowledge
Warrior frightened flunky
Primordial studies is both mage and shaman.
Hunter marked shot
I’m guessing Archivist Elysiana wouldn’t be able to offer herself as a choice. Yeah, this is like a very very very rare thing to happen, and as if the meta will drag a game that long, but hey, it’s possible
Now here’s an interesting one: Body Wrapper. If you ran two copies and the first one died, would the second one allow you to shuffle the first one?

If they pull that crap they can shove this product and every other thing their company makes.

yeah 'cause mage is so clearly overpowered these days…
The entire dev team deserves to be replaced.

Well you’re dodging an aprentice nerf that is a win on my book.

For exactly how long? They have already said they are reworking classic cards and when they do and completely destroy mage, they can cram this game.

Overall this is a healthy change for the game, but there should be full dust refunds on quite a few cards.

Of course, refunds for every discover and generator card is ridiculous, but this change seriously effects lots of cards and as such compensation should be due. Hell we have a precedent if this change being made specifically to 1 card (DQ Alex) with a refund given, it makes sense for at least some cards to give full dust refunds.

and another outsized slap in the face to mage players.

To an unhealthy and unfun mechanic.

I agree it would have been much better timed as a balance update last expansion so they could angle mage away from discover.

How about that mobile network fix? Lots of people are waiting to play the game when not on WiFi…

For whom exactly, the 40% that were unlucky enough to lose to mozaki mage?

No, infinite discovery from the same card is super unfun to play against, in every class.

This is effecting way more then just mage.

So mages are forced for yet another entire expansion to play the same crummy HL deck. Great. You want to talk about unfun? That deck is a POC to play and to play against.

Hey you could be paladin and stuck with nothing but fish people for 2 years, atleast HL mage is fun to play.

Well, We are going to have to disagree on that point. I hate HL mage and sat out of standard for the entire last expansion because that is all there was.
I know you and I almost never agree, but i want you to know i do respect your opinions.
I am to the point with HS that I really do not care anymore. I hope the current Dev team winds up in Friendship Park propositioning old men for pocket change.

seem you have no choice but to play as a casual player or pick another class

i do it all the time if i dont enjoy the competitive decks i just go with any deck i like even if it means stop climbing the ladder

I have more choices than that. When I go, I promise the post I leave here will get me a lifetime ban.
I’m just waiting to see what they do to classic cards.
If they choose to kill tempo mage in Wild, (Which they probably will, it is mage after all.) then I’m done with Blizzard.

Well, out goes Cheenvala, Cyclone, Giants and Mozaki then. Magic Trick power level drops all the way down when you can’t bail out a second magic trick to try better spells.
Arcane Breath also loses some power with this. Explorer’s also got hit hard. The capability to discover another Explorer was very well received in Spell Power mage and any form of dragon mage.

This is a subtle, yet far reaching nerf. Wonder why this came now of all times.
