Hearthstone esports are back with more events, more opportunities to compete, and more paths to become World Champion!
No mention of whether the World Championship is online or LAN in some city in the world? We haven’t had an in-person competitive event since before COVID.
Amazing news. I am hyped
You underestimate how expensive those events are for both the organizers and the people attending. I have been to both in person and online and I def prefer online.
What a waste of company resources. Sporting events are supposed to be a show of skills not who has better luck.
They can definitely afford it, they flew people to France for the Starcraft event. It’s better for publicity if it’s a LAN event
So can anybody play in the new open qualifier? Will it be like playing a tavern brawl?
If so, I wonder how much it will cost?
Damn, this heavily favores ladder play to qualify for the higher tier events, which are all conquest tournaments. Unfortunate that Blizzard keeps sticking to that idea as if they think that will get people to play ranked more. The balance between ladder and open qualifiers was perfect in 2022 or whenever they last had qualifiers. There were 120 qualifiers per region per master tour and it was fantastic. Also i find it odd that they put no incentive to finish higher than 4th place for the opens as they’re calling them. That makes little sense. And just one open per tour is brutal.
Sweet. we can watch other people lose to RNG discovers instead of us.
My sentiments exactly.
If you have to bribe people to watch this crap with twitch drops or whatever, maybe nobody cares enough about it to keep pumping money into these events
Hearthstone is NOT an E-Sport no matter HOW you try to think it is.
For you. Some people like e-sports. They play for hours a day in a competitive way and they only care about high performance.
He just said Hearthstone isn’t. That’s just his opinion. I’m inclined to agree. Others may not.
Nice. You want to decide for others what is an e-sport, but you don’t want to be told they think it’s an e-sport.
Hey there!I live in Athens and i just saw online that the soon coming masters tour 2025 event starting on August 14, will take place in Athens. Can i watch it from close? Where exactly will it be??
What does a game that bases 90% of a match on random events, which are not even random but governed by algorithms that manage them by varying them based on various parameters, have to do with an esport?
sourcE?
hell with balancing, let’s just have our e-sport players and streamers advertise garbage new features like rally to try to get suck…er…people to try our game and hope to spend their hard earn money on useless cosmetics, or buy the battlepass and tons of packs hopefully win a game or 2…pending on your garbage RNG that is.
competitive coin flipping is back on the menu pog
