1000 wins portraits - a lazy job

Am I the only one who thinks a LAZY job has been done by blizzard ? I am extremely disappointed in their work.

Why ?

Because there is:

*No new emotes or in game entrance.
*No hero power animation
*No new hero boarders, just the plain one.

So basically everything’s a complete downgrade compared to other alternate portraits. These are supposed to be the ULTIMATE classes achievements and yet… they are plain and boring.

Hope the art team will work on unique hero trays and add some new voices because right now what we got is an half done job.

Yeah, this entire situation is kind of tilting. Quality of the portraits (good and bad) aside, it feels like Blizz put in the bare minimum effort for one of the top features that users have been asking about for years.

EXACTLY.

Like what the hell man, try to make it seem like you AT LEAST put some effort into it.

This job probably took them 5 minutes, just found some art from google and copy pasted it onto the old portraits. Nothing else was done.

This is probably the biggest annoyance to me… emotes would have been nice as well but I don’t emote often but the animations you tend to see A LOT.

Meh at least make new hero trays. I rather have that than animation.

I think calling them hero portraits is a bit glorifying.

I mean, the standard for a hero portraits is a different entrance, emotes and a new border as well as the picture.

They’ve just given us a 1000 wins photo, you might as well tape the picture onto your screen rather then grinding the wins for them lol.

I was begging a Mage to show me the new emotes.

I rate this:
8/9 aestetically (Rexxar’s sucks although I can’t say I mind);
Disappointment/5 for content.

I agree, if it feels very lazy. The thing to note here is that since they historically provided little to no content in between expansions many will come to defend blizzard and call anyone that criticizes this lazy job as entitled.

The art is very good (except for Rexxar), the issue I have is also the lack of “shiny things”. Slightly enhanced hero-power would be nice, but yea, but it’s maybe the “paid hero” territory or the basic hero-power is part of their identity.

But the cosmetic side of Hearthstone was always so limited (Shadowverse portraits have more animation effort behind them, can’t deny it)… so imo Blizzard has to do something better… Blizzard has way more paying players.

I would absolutely loved it if 1000 win portrait had 1 extra new emote, like a “special” emote. Valeera Pirate/Sea noise emote, Rexxar about “I always go for the face” with roaring Misha/huffer in the background. Each time Thrall emotes you hear Thunder or you see thunder in his portrait like somewhat interactive portraits. That would be a great way to introduce new emotes

There was so much more… but what ever… they can add those stuff later.

I’m disappointed as well…
To release a new hero without new emotes…(voice over) is a very lazy job…they could have done that years ago…5 years to release a milestone and yet…with same emotes…saaaaaaaaaaaaaad

In terms of art, the warlock, priest and druid look cool. The others are bleh.

should be grateful that they decided to give you something for winning many coin flips in my opinion.

if I had 1000 wins on all heroes (which I prob wont ever) I would feel a professional coin flipper at this point…

With these new portraits more players will want to spend more time in ‘Arena’ or ‘Standard Ranked’ or ‘Wild Ranked’ and less time in ‘Casual’ or ‘Tavern’.

The only one I’m really disappointed with is Hunter. He looks way too derpy, his head is too small and you can’t even tell what’s going in with his legs. I really wanted Rexxar to look dignified, but I guess you can’t look like that when you’re half ogre? Entrance animation, hero power animation, hero boarder and emotes would have been a great addition, but I’m alright without it.

People spent years to complaint for having something for 1000 wins.
Now they have it and stille complaint.
Neat.

While I am mostly just happy that we get new portraits and I was not expecting new emotes or hero power animations I must admit I am disappointed that there is no new hero boarders.

You are very much not (see entire thread).
Though personally like the Mage one

Asking something for years doesn’t we’re not entitled to complain if the JOB was poorly done.

It’s like a kid asking his mother for a new toy for years. Then she gives him a worn-out broken toy. Should he be happy or disappointed ?

Thank gosh im not the only one with a not-on-board attitude towards the ‘mega master class’ portrait.

I’m unequipping my rex forever, it played 2 matches and could barely look at it / tell what it is.

Rex looks like a rough draft of a bear in daylight…shooting some green glowstick into the ground, with a very hungover look in his eyes or a major migrane.

I mean yea numbers will be achieved since time, but everyone and their bro has 1k on their main which is what this reward is targeting right?

This is a reward that for once DOES NOT target brand new players to get them started. And they botched both the number (1k) and the design.

Double fail politely.
I think 4-5K would of been the perfect balance at this point, where sure people out there already have 4-5k on their main, but not like everyone such as is the case with 1k.

How in any way does it hurt, let alone help since goal, to have 2 rewards.
Do this “1k carrot everyone already hit” and then geese just throw out a 10k win portrait, for that long-term chase, for that oooh ahhh feeling when you finally see one right?

Like this is design/business 101, and putting a cheaply appearing reward for a goal most already hit on their mains, is just bad.

I randomly hit 3 (with 50 wins away on warlock) Hunter, Valeera (my two mains) and like ill admit somehow Anduin slipped in there. I cannot stand playing Warlock/Anduin and somehow I hit 1k on them. Like meaning I didn’t even try in the slightest and I achieved them.

That is NOT what this reward should be doing, like “oh, really, I played that much priest?” It should be set so high that most people are like “nice I want to work for this goal for my mains”.

Like don’t they understand people play this game on a couple classes, and don’t equally like all classes the same, since money is involved here.

HS is best played focusing down on 1-3 classes and that’s it, and this reward definitely caters to people who don’t have a main at all, and want to play all 9 about the same, as evidenced by how how low that 1k is.

I don’t even want to try looking at the valeera and anduin I got in match, or win 50 with warlock to get the reward. Like to be 95% complete with ‘the ultimate’ reward for Warlock, and I have no intention of wanting to finish off that 5% because of how poorly they were drawn up, says something right?

I mean im only 5 percent away this is going to be sweet!
More like “they look so terrible I don’t even want to put in the little time to finish the goal and achieve it”.

That hurts most of all, I’m still working towards my Warlock one, and the art and animation are amazing (IMO), but clicking on the preview in-game and the same “Embrace the shadow” voiceline as the original, I was a bit bummed. I feel that they should put more effort into these win portraits, and truly make it feel like getting to 1000 wins was all worth it.
