Wrong type crystal(Enigmatic) is returned when salvage lvl7 ring, which was upgraded by Cryptic Crystal

i got new ring and swapped with existing one(lvl17), but the level is not swapped. so i upgrade the new ring to lvl7 with Cryptic Crystal. then i found my level 17 ring in my storage, so i salvage the level 7 ring. i was expecting Cryptic Crystal is returned but only Enigmatic Crystal is returned. now i lost 900 Cryptic Crystal which is very much important for green gear upgrading.

This is expected. Upgrade requires the exact type of material. If you don’t have it, it can be converted from a material of a different level. The conversion ratio down is 1:1. The conversion ratio up is 20:1. So once you convert down you lose a lot of value of the crystals. I would recommend turning off the “use higher/lower tier materials” setting so you get an explicit “Convert” prompt that you can simply not use so you can save your crystals.
