Warning: Banned For Using X-Box Elite Pro Controller 2 with PC

This morning, I just received another ban on my account after spending a few hours on Wednesday leveling my Druid using my Xbox Elite Pro Controller 2 with my PC.

Because I had been previously banned for using my Razer Kishi V3 Pro XL controller on my iPad, I thought it would be safe to download the game on my PC and play it directly there with my Xbox controller.

This morning I wake up to another ban email, this time for three days. The same reason given as before: automation (botting). Of course, I appealed the process, but as noted by others here and myself previously, they are doing lazy reviews, and simply supporting the bans.

Separately I received an email from Razer yesterday noting they are continuing to investigate and test the issue on their end, but it appears the issue affects many other joysticks as well.

I’m completely at a loss as to what to do next. I was enjoying the game, but I feel like completely deleting it off my hard drive and all other devices because I’m getting sick and tired of being falsely accused of automation/botting for using approved methods of playing the game.

Same thing’s happening to me too. Already got hit with 3 bans, 1 day, 3 days, then 7 days, all for ā€œautomation/botting/third-party software.ā€ Total BS. I only play on my iPad with normal controllers (first a DualSense, now an Xbox Elite 2) and I don’t even touch the market.

I even sent Blizzard pics of my setup just to prove I’m legit, but every appeal gets brushed off. And the weirdest part? Every single ban lands at exactly 1:02 AM PDT. That’s not a human review, that’s their bot flagging me.

So yeah, you’re dead right. They’re nuking actual players and not even looking into it. If they don’t fix this, people are just gonna quit.

This game bans controller users, especially with phones. Not much to do than either quit or go with touch or M+K I am afraid :frowning:

Who’s the Blizzard rep upholding your bans? I’m three for three now with Specialist Game Master Chaneassan.

I just got 2nd ban with wired windows xbox controller and I was using msi afterburner ?

Hi.

No it is actually 3 different persons (or robots)?
Anyway, I have moved back to D2R as I dont want to play on touch controllers. DI was a mistake, but will check back from time to time on the forum to see if Blizzard has looked at their faulty detection system.

I’ve completely given up on playing the game right now because Blizzard can’t seem to get their act together to provide a substantive professional response to this issue. There is simply no excuse whatsoever for it to be taking over a month with zero action. No one seems to give a crap and we are all just being branded as cheaters and botters.

Blizzard 2025 is definitely not the customer concerned Blizzard of a few years ago.

For me, the worst part is that this really do show how incompetent the responsible people at Blizz are.

Do we really want to play a game where the responsible hosts/devs have no clue of what they are doing? I mean, what will happen in the future?

Personally, I would need an official apology statement for beeing called a cheater to even consider coming back.

It’s true that Blizzard’s reaction (or rather, their lack of reaction) is not really acceptable and yet it’s not like we haven’t given them plenty of factual evidence to help them move forward on this issue.

For most of us, I don’t think this is our first time in the gaming world (translation: we’re not 15 years old anymore) and we’re perfectly capable of understanding that these kinds of problems can happen bugs exist. But what we don’t understand is Blizzard’s persistence in burying their heads in the sand, staying completely silent on the matter, even though we’re dealing with an issue that affects dozens if not hundreds of players, and which was reported easily a month ago already.

Personally and I don’t think I’m the only one, an official statement as simple as ā€œYes, we’ve seen it and we’re working on the issueā€ would be enough at first to calm down the anger and frustration of players. Just a sign that the problem is actually acknowledged and it’s only a matter of time before a solution is found. (For example, the blue banner saying there’s an account connection issue on iOS…god damn why can’t they do the same for the controller issue ? Not enough proof yet ? Do we need half the player base to move over to Path of Exile or another competitor ?).

As I said above, there’s a first step to take to relieve the pressure, but then there’s also a clear action needed toward the players who have been directly affected by the malfunction. I fully agree with this point: the sanctions on Battle.net accounts caused by false positives should be purely and simply removed. Having accounts, some of them over 20 years old, wrongly flagged as repeat cheaters is just not acceptable.

For the record, I tried today to send a message to support to get more info on the issue and to know whether an investigation was underway but we all know exactly what kind of answer I’m going to get…

I fully agree with you. Last week I also asked if they were looking into this matter related to the controller use getting people banned unfairly. Please let me know if your answer is any better than mine:

''I’ll be happy to assist you today by answering your questions, first things first, Blizzard do not sanction accounts just because you are using a controller to play, there are some restrictions for games to avoid unfair advantage between players but that is not the case with Diablo immortal.

Now take in count that the use of unauthorized third-party software is sanctionable so I would encourage you to avoid using such short cuts in order to avoid any sanction being applied to the account.

If there is anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to reach out to us.ā€˜ā€™

From a guy that has played the hell out of D2 since 2000 (Never really quitted) and even got up in the middle of the night in November 2004 to ensure to get a copy of WOW, this just goes to show what this company has become since those days. Not the same, not even remotely :frowning:

We can’t even get the Community Manager here to look into it. It’s like nobody cares at all. We’re just left on our own with permanently tarnished accounts.

I saw the new trailer for World of Warcraft midnight came out and this is the first time I will be passing up an expansion. This whole situation has really turned me off Blizzard.

To end this on a better note, Razer Senior Techs reached back to me and said they didn’t have enough time to complete full testing this week and will be doing more next week to see if they can replicate the ban. At least they are upset that their own device is causing people to get unjustifiably banned.

Razer is such a big company that stuff like this may help getting Blizz’s attention. If they contacted Blizz directly it might help speed up the process for them to look into this.
