I have a 9.1k resonance toon which can’t opt to change gems anymore. My upgraded gems will instantly go dormant as soon as I unequip them and no food is provided to reawaken them.
Moreover, a Void Spark which was inside a Wulfheort simply vanished. Can’t seem to find any trace of it. Gone like the wind.
Edit: I now have a dormant Bile in my wings and less resonance than before.
Would love to provide with screenshots and video capture or whatever.
Update:
Tried to make the gem dormant so I could reinfuse and it made it worse: had to buy 120 power gems or have a rank 9 gem become utterly useless.

I am having a similar issue. 11.5k reso player and my new gem is rank 6 4 star. I have not done any extractions, power transfer or auxiliary or whatever might normally cause this and my gem is “dormant”
Update: the gem was dormant but let me step upgrade it, then after logging out and back in, it required power transfer, which I did not do
I swapped builds via armory to un-equip and then re-equip the gem, and now it’s no longer “dormant”

Thanks for the tip. A similar thing happened to me but the only way I could make my gem active was to extract the power from the dormant gem. Yes I was able to extract power from the dormant gem but it cost 60 extra gem power to make it active again. This is the second time it has happened to me and changing gear in the armory isn’t working. I hope tech support fixes my issue. I am glad you got your issue resolved.

Same problem here. Level5 4star Star Fire Shard suddenly gone dormant without the gem power being available. The gem service guy wants 16 gem power to revive it?! What the heck is that about? Not even going to bother with customer service, not like this game hasn’t ripped me off for other similar stuff in the past.
This is happening to me, gems are dormant just from equipping a different gem temporarily.
So I just spent around $300 in value for this issue I’m having. I recently upgraded my roling legendary gem with the progression upgrade system to rank 5. I’ve tried many things to fix the issue including using my extra gems and gem power to make the gem no longer dormant even tho it should not be dormant but when I change my newly made loadouts to account for the issue it keeps making my gem dormant I’ve used a total of 2 echoing shades and other legendary gems to counter the issue in case it just needed the extra infusion and I was able to make the dem no longer dormant. However now I go to switch my loadout and it’s making the gem dormant even after saving new loadouts to fix the issue and it’s still causing my roling to become dormant even tho I’ve put in an abundance of gem power to make it not so. I’m not sure what to do to fix this but so far I’ve wasted a lot of legendary gems to this issue while not receiving my gem power back from the bug. I’ve spent hundreds on this game to get crests in order to upgrade these gems I am highly disappointed that this keeps happening. I have extra pictures to show how it’s dormant and not dormant and I’m sure you should be able to look at the infusion log for the extra gems I have wasted. I’d appreciate some sort of help with this fix the bug and fix my lost gems and gem power please again I am super disappointed that this keeps happening when I change loadouts. Again I say, I’ve installed many gems and gempower to make it longer dormant while also making new save loadouts to fix the issue and it’s continuing to require more gem power even tho I’ve already gone and infused more to the gem and now I’m down a lot of gems and gempower power to upgrade my other gems.
I also have this bug. My R7 rolling consequences became Dormant overnight? I never even touch any gems upgrade recently.

I have the same problem, what’s the point of upgrading a 5* legendary stone to 5lvl if I can’t take it out and put it back in due to some bug in the game! I can only use it in armory again. Crazy
