Unable to upgrade legendary gem

I have a 4/5 rank 6 frozen heart that I took the gem power out to upgrade the new 5/5 star frozen heart. I got the the new 5/5 frozen heart to rank 5 and then tried to use my 4/5 rank 6 as material but it wouldn’t let me saying the rank is too high, but in my inventory it is showing that my 4/5 rank 6 frozen heart counts as 16 rank 1 frozen heart, but cannot use. I used to be able to use it as upgrade material for the gem, and all of the component gem would be returned to me to use for upgrade material. It feels like I just wasted a ton of money and now I can’t use the 4/5 rank 6 dormant frozen heart as gem upgrade material

well you messed that up, all you needed to do was use the 5/5 as a duplicate for upgrading your rank 6. Also it needs to the rank needed for the upgrade and NOT dormant

Y would u ever use a 5/5 star gem as a duplicate for a 4/5 star gem lol

because thats how you upgrade a 4 to a 5, you dont start over from scratch… you use it as a duplicate and it turns the 4 into a 5… same as it would turn a 2* into a 5 of the same type
